Art of Resilience is a veteran art initiative founded by Pamela Alderman that uses creative expression to honor service, amplify stories, and foster healing through connection. Through hands-on workshops and public art exhibits, veterans and their families are invited to share experiences, build community, and explore resilience through art. Participation is voluntary, and individuals share only w

hat they are comfortable sharing. All stories and images are used with permission and respect for participant privacy. This work creates meaningful spaces where reflection, understanding, and healing grow—together.

Art of Resilience Is Expanding!
We’re excited to announce that Art of Resilience is expanding beyond West Michigan! This summer, our veteran artwork was showcased at Fresno City Hall in California, and now the City of Southfield, Michigan USA - Government, has invited a few of our veterans to exhibit their artwork.
We’re honored to see AOR grow—elevating veteran artists, sharing their stories, and helping communities get to know the people behind the military service.

Registration for the fifth annual Michigan Women Veterans Conference is now open. Presented by the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA), the National Guard Association of Michigan and the Michigan Women Veterans Coalition, this premier event for Michigan’s more than 44,000 women veterans will be held in Bay City from Oct. 15-17.

Dennis Linn is a retired U.S. Air Force officer and accomplished artist. His work has earned national recognition, including features in American Artist magazine and a First Place award in Artist’s Magazine’s All Media Competition. His work draws inspiration from a career of service in the United States Air Force, creating work based on memories and photographs collected during deployments around the world.
