Lindsey here. I'm on a mission to create all the Catholic catechetical tools that I wish existed. So far I have Patron Saint Blocks, Nativity and Easter Block sets, Craft Sheets, Wooden Mass Kits, and DIY Mass Kits in my shop. For me, this is just the beginning. hool club so I'd love to incorporate my artwork into maps and timelines etc. What about board books with the patrons of your family? I'm dying to make a picture book with a page for each prayer of the Rosary - how cool would it be to sit down to "read a story" to your child and at the end of it have finished a rosary? We love the Montessori Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and it inspired me to put together a wooden mass kit. Kids (and all of us) learn by doing and touching. They connect with what they can hold and use and "work" with. I have 3 rough and tumble boys that are 2 year, 4 years and 8 years old and this set can be used by all of them. I've scoured the internet and found the best pieces to pull together to make a mass kit that is a good scale, durable, and beautiful. My husband is the Director of the Office of Worship for our diocesse so he helped make sure everything was just right. PATRON SAINT BLOCKS------------
My blocks are designed to be easy to clean, hard to break, beautiful, educational, inspirational and versatile (for tots, little kids, or big kids). Best of all they give the opportunity for prayerful play. I have nearly 100 saints to choose from so far! These blocks are just the right size for little hands. They can be used for imaginative play, building, stacking or collecting. I have a print of my original watercolor art on the front. On the back there is a quote or a prayer chosen to inspire little ones and the one that cleans up behind them. The saint's name, feast day and patronage are also listed - I didn't just want these blocks to be cute, I wanted to give a tiny glimpse of the saint's inspiring story. It is so hard to choose just a few words for each of them, but I hope there is just enough information to be a reminder and an inspiration for further learning. NATIVITY-------------------
I have a 15 block nativity and a 5 block nativity. These aren't the "no touch" kind of nativity for display, they are for playing and learning. They have my original artwork on both the fronts AND backs of each block. They are kid friendly and yet still beautiful to inspire meditation on the meaning of Christmas. Since a nativity helps you imagine the Christmas story, I decided I could make a set of blocks to help kids play out the Easter story. It's a set that helps kids understand the joy of the resurrection.
