I am sharing this because every time I mention it someone reaches out to share a story and ask more about how and if a pessary might be helpful for them. And, I wish someone would have told me at 17 that I had other options besides medication or surgery to help manage my urinary incontinence.
I am not a pelvic floor PT, but this is a tool I now use whenever I run and one I want more women to know about. If you’re experiencing leaking, pressure, discomfort, or changes in your pelvic floor, please talk about it.
Sometimes the first step is saying, “Hey, this doesn’t feel right”. Your discomfort is worth talking about. Your leaking is worth talking about. You do not have to just live with it.
Shout out to my very best friend (who is also my pelvic floor PT) for getting me here. I would not be running without her🤍. Nancy Boyd & Renee Pryzstas
Please share your stories and ask all the questions and I will point you in the direction of the many brilliant women leading the charge in this arena. Like Nancy, Dr. Carrie Pagliano, PT and Pregnancy researcher & pelvic physio
