Calcium is often thought of as the "bone health" mineral, but it plays a role in so much more, including muscle contraction (even the heart is a muscle!), nerve signaling, hormone release, and more.

It also doesn't work in isolation.

Like many micronutrients, calcium relies on other nutrients to be properly absorbed, transported, and utilized. Magnesium, vitamin D, and vitamin K2 are just a few of the important cofactors that work alongside calcium.

It's a great reminder that our bodies don't function on individual nutrients. They function as an interconnected system, and nutrition is no different. ❤️

Most women never connect symptoms like fatigue, bloating, brain fog, cravings, stubborn weight, or feeling inflamed and puffy back to the liver.

When people think about the liver, they often think about alcohol or detoxification, but the liver does so much more.

I do a Functional Medicine Detox every quarter, and over the years it’s become one of my favorite ways to reset and support my health. 🌿

For me, a detox isn’t about punishment, deprivation, or trying to “fix” my body.

It’s about creating space to support it.

I use it as an opportunity to eat more vegetables, reduce processed foods, focus on hydration, support my liver, and reset healthy habits.

As a woman in my 40s, I also think about detoxification differently than I did in my 20s because the liver plays an important role in hormone metabolism and clearance.

My favorite part isn’t the detox itself.

It’s walking other women through the process.

I ask my clients to step out of their comfort zones all the time, and I think it’s important that I do the same.

For the last few years, I had been in a bit of a workout rut. About a month ago, I decided to walk through the doors at

I’ll be honest, I was nervous to step into a new environment. 🙈 But from day one, I was met with kindness from both the staff and the members.

In just a short time, I’ve gained:
✨ New friendships
✨ Confidence to lift heavier
✨ A renewed sense of fun and challenge around working out

I know it’s not always common for adults to say they’re proud of themselves, but today I am.

This morning, I did a chin up for the first time.

I almost didn’t even try because all the usual thoughts popped into my head: What if I can’t do it? What if I look silly?

But I tried anyway.

And guess what? I did it! 🙌

It was such a simple moment, but it reminded me that growth often happens on the other side of doing the thing that scares us a little.

I’m so glad I didn’t let fear keep me from walking through those doors.
