Because sometimes, it really does only take a second.

One unlocked cabinet.
One unanchored dresser.
One choking hazard.
One unsafe sleep space.
One moment near water.
One car seat mistake you didn’t know you were making.

Baby safety isn’t about judging parents.

It’s about educating them.

Because none of us know everything.
Guidelines change.
We learn.
We adjust.
We do better.

You can’t bubble wrap your baby.

But you can learn the risks.
You can take precautions.
You can ask questions.
You can make their world safer.

Not because you’re paranoid.

Because they’re counting on you.

Sometimes even the strongest hearts
need somewhere safe to hide. 🖤🌙

Sometimes the warrior lays down their sword,
the dragon folds its wings,
and the tired soul simply whispers,
“I can't fight anymore tonight.” 🥹🐉

And that's okay. ❤️‍🩹

You don't have to be strong every day.
You don't have to smile when you're hurting.
You don't have to explain why today
you only have enough energy to breathe. 🫂🌿

Rest is not weakness.
Taking a break is not failure.
Needing someone doesn't make you a burden. ❤️

Even dragons sleep beside dying fires. 🔥🐉
Even wolves retreat into the quiet forest. 🐺🌲
Even the bravest hearts need a little peace. 🌙✨

So if today has been heavy...
put down your armour. 🛡️
Take a breath. 🌬️
Rest your weary heart. ❤️‍🩹

Tomorrow can wait.

Your first home was me.
Your second home was the NICU.

Not our house.
Not the bassinet beside my bed.
Not the nursery waiting for you.

You left my body and went somewhere without me.

Your second home had monitors.
Wires.
IVs.
Alarms.

So this NICU Awareness Month, I’m thinking of every baby who knew the NICU before they knew home.

The micropreemies.
The preemies.
The full term babies who needed extra help.
And the babies who never got to come home.

The NICU was part of our beginning.
And it’s a part of me I’ll never forget.
