โItโs just hairโ so then why am I crying?
Because there was a time that the absence of it reminded me she was sick. I saw my babyโs hair fall out and I cried. It wasnโt just hair. It was the reminder of the toxic treatment we were allowing her to go through. The reminder that she might not be here much longer. The reminder that the cancer was there. It was a reality I couldnโt escape.
โIt will just grow backโ they said but I didnโt know if she would live long enough for it to.
But she did live. It did grow back. And itโs the beautiful reminder of her body healing. Sheโs not that sick girl anymore. So I do her little hair in the morning and I cry. My baby is alive. She is healthy. She made it through one of the toughest treatments.
Itโs not just hair
