We spend a lot of time looking for the big reason we're exhausted. But often? It's the small things we do every single day that quietly drain us.

Here are 5 I see show up most often β€” in my clients and honestly in myself:
1. Saying yes when you mean no
2. Checking your phone first thing in the morning
3. Skipping meals to "get more done"
4. Replaying conversations in your head on loop
5. Treating rest like something you have to earn

We live in a culture that has taught us to interpret exhaustion as weakness. To push through. To perform productivity even when we have nothing left.

We've been taught to equate exhaustion with dedication. To keep going no matter what. To wear busyness like a status symbol.

But burnout isn't a sign that you're working hard enough β€” it's a sign that you're pouring from a cup that is almost empty.

Burnout can look like emotional exhaustion. Detachment. A creeping loss of passion for things that used to light you up. It can look like having time and energy for everyone and everything other than yourself β€” and it is absolutely worth addressing.

Mental health isn't just about crisis moments. It's the daily weight we carry. The burnout we normalize. The outward smile masking the inward frown or cry for help. The dreams we quietly set aside because we're too depleted to pursue them.

This month is a reminder of the complexity of mental health and the various needs that we may have β€” both collectively and individually. This month is about destigmatizing mental health and supporting ourselves, our families, our peers, and even strangers in the ways that we are able.
