A better night’s sleep is now closer to home.

The Sleep Lab at Butler Memorial Hospital has been renovated to create a more comfortable, hotel‑like environment for adults and children ages 3 and older undergoing overnight sleep studies. The updated space includes larger rooms with full‑size beds, room for parents or caregivers to stay overnight, and upgraded amenities—all designed to improve the patient and family experience.

The sleep lab is open seven days a week and located on the hospital’s 4 North unit.

**RESOLVED: The telecommunications outage has been resolved.**

ALERT: A primary telecommunications carrier for IHS is experiencing widespread outages. This is affecting multiple IHS facilities and results in an inability to call outbound or inbound. Internal calling should work as normal. Some facilities are on different carriers and are not affected. The carrier is fully engaged and working to resolve the outage.

The Penn State Alumni Association Westmoreland County Chapter recently donated Jared Boxes to the Independence Health System Behavioral Health Unit at Latrobe Hospital to brighten the days of children receiving care.

Inspired by Jared, a brave young boy who shared toys with other children during his cancer treatment, each Jared Box is filled with games, crayons, and fun activities—small gifts that bring comfort and smiles when they’re needed most.
