The training of the body has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds its promise for the present life and also for the life to come. ~ 1 Timothy 4:8
In this world and even in the church, there is a large focus on caring for your body.
Unfortunately the church has even been involved in an unhealthy push to get the body into shape so that a person can be “used by God.”
The truth is, this is harming believers to become obsessed with “healthy living” and the desire to train their bodies physically in order to be acceptable to God rather than the priority being on pursuing righteousness of the heart.
God does not need you to meet a certain body standard to be used by Him.
Above and beyond your physical health, God cares about the state of your heart.
That is the true way to care for your body as God designed it to be. When your heart is in the right place, you are a vessel that is ready for every good thing God has.
He doesn’t expect perfection, but He looks for the one who is seeking Him and is willing to be obedient. As you seek Him, your heart will align with His heart and the physical aspects of your life can fall into place.
Embody God’s word with your WHOLE self:
Mind: Remember God looks at the heart.
Soul: Ask God to transform your heart.
Body: Do something for the glory of God today.
