From Penni Shelton:

September opens under the influence of the Jupiter–Saturn trine, which becomes exact only hours before the month begins. This is one of the year’s most constructive signatures for turning possibility into something tangible, and it belongs to a larger cycle that will continue unfolding over the coming year.

September also brings a concentrated series of shifts in communication, relationships & direction. Uranus stations retrograde, Venus & Mercury change signs, Chiron returns to Aries, Libra Season begins at the equinox & an Aries Full Moon lights up the final week of the month.

Save this post — I’ll be exploring each of these transits in greater depth as they unfold.

September 1 • Mars square Saturn
Momentum meets resistance. Frustration can build when progress feels blocked, making patience, pacing & thoughtful action more productive than trying to force an outcome.

September 10 • Venus enters Scorpio
Relationships, desire & values deepen. Venus in Scorpio favors intimacy, emotional honesty, loyalty & connections that go beneath the surface.

September 10 • Mercury enters Libra
Communication becomes more relational & diplomatic. Conversations turn toward cooperation, fairness, negotiation & understanding another point of view.

September 10 • Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini
Uranus begins retracing some of the territory it has covered since entering Gemini. Changes involving communication, ideas, technology & the way we process information may now require reconsideration or deeper integration.

September 10 • New Moon in Virgo
A fresh cycle begins around work, health, routines, organization & practical improvement. This New Moon supports useful changes that can make everyday life function more effectively.

September 12 • Mercury trine Pluto & opposite Neptune
Mercury connects with two outer planets on the same day, combining penetrating insight with imagination but also the possibility of confusion. Discernment matters when something feels compelling before all the facts are clear.

September 13 • Mercury trine Uranus
Fresh ideas, unexpected information & new perspectives can arrive quickly. This is excellent energy for breakthroughs, inventive thinking & seeing a situation differently.

September 15 • Venus square Pluto
Relationships, attraction, money & values can take on greater intensity. Power dynamics or deeper desires may surface, asking for honesty about what we truly want and what we are willing to invest in.

September 15 • Neptune sextile Pluto
This slow-moving generational alignment becomes exact again, continuing one of the much larger stories shaping this era. Transformation, imagination & collective change are working together over a long arc rather than a single day.

September 17 • Chiron retrogrades back into Aries
Chiron returns to Aries to revisit unfinished themes around identity, courage, independence & our relationship with vulnerability. Something we thought we had moved beyond may deserve another look.

September 18 • Mercury opposite Saturn
Communication becomes more serious. Decisions, conversations or plans may require greater patience, responsibility & a willingness to deal honestly with limitations.

September 20 • Jupiter quintile Uranus
Jupiter & Uranus form a creative aspect that can encourage innovation, experimentation & unexpected opportunity. New possibilities may emerge when we are willing to think beyond familiar solutions.

September 21 • Mercury sextile Jupiter
Perspective expands. Learning, teaching, writing, planning & conversations that help us see the bigger picture receive a welcome boost.

September 22 • Sun enters Libra • Autumn Equinox
Libra Season begins as the Sun crosses the celestial equator. Attention turns toward relationships, cooperation, fairness, beauty & finding greater balance in the way we relate to one another.

September 25 • Sun opposite Neptune
Clarity may temporarily blur as intuition, imagination & sensitivity become stronger. This can be beautiful for creativity or spiritual reflection, but it also asks us to distinguish inspiration from projection.

September 26 • Sun trine Pluto
Confidence gains depth & focus. This aspect can support meaningful change, stronger resolve & a willingness to engage more honestly with what needs to transform.

September 26 • Full Moon in Aries
The Aries Full Moon highlights independence, courage, initiative & personal needs. Something may become clear about where we need to act for ourselves while still considering the relationships around us.

September 27 • Mars enters Leo
Mars moves into bold, expressive Leo, bringing more confidence, creativity, passion & visibility to the way we pursue what we want. Action becomes warmer, more dramatic & increasingly heart-led.

September 28 • Sun trine Uranus
A fresh current enters the atmosphere. This aspect favors experimentation, originality & unexpected changes that help move us out of stale patterns.

September 29 • Mercury trine the North Node & opposite Chiron
Conversations or information may connect the future with something unfinished from the past. Words can touch sensitive places, but they may also help clarify what needs to be understood before moving forward.

September 30 • Mercury enters Scorpio
Thinking & communication become more probing, perceptive & private. Surface answers may no longer satisfy as Mercury in Scorpio looks for what is hidden, meaningful or true beneath appearances.

🍀 THE CLOVED ORANGE...

There is a homely kind of magic in the scent of orange and clove. It does not feel harsh or severe. It fills the air slowly, warmly, and with a brightness that seems to settle into the corners of a room. In folk magic, strong scent has often been used not only to please the senses, but to shape the feeling of a space.

The cloved orange carries two kinds of power at once. The orange brings sweetness, warmth, welcome, and good cheer. The cloves bring sharpness, protection, and a watchful edge. Together, they make a charm that does not only guard the home, but helps it feel worth guarding.

This may be approached as a simple household folk charm for protected warmth, especially when a room feels cold in spirit, tired, or in need of gentle strengthening. It is not a ward made from fear. It is a bright little keeper, reminding the house that protection can be fragrant, generous, and full of life.

✨ Press whole cloves into the skin of an orange in a simple pattern, then place it in a bowl near the hearth, kitchen, doorway, or gathering place. Let it stand as a charm of warmth, sweetness, and quiet protection.

Charm of the Cloved Orange:

“Orange bright and clove set deep,
Warm this home and safely keep.
Sweetness in and harm away,
Guard this room through night and day.”

Folk magic does not always stand at the door with iron — sometimes it sits in the heart of the home, filling the air with warmth.

We are JUST off the back of a Lunar eclipse in Pisces… where the moon turned red.

Known as a blood moon eclipse, it’s the most significant luna eclipse (96 degrees) we’ve seen in decades.

The moon illuminates emotional truths.
Pisces is the higher realms, our higher consciousness.

Emotional and spiritual revelations will be made apparent to you now.

Your own buried emotional blind spots can become awakened.

This promotes a higher sensitivity of self.

You might feel more connected, intuitive, sensitive, emotional, or even just physically drained than usual.
Your energy body is receiving so many codes so it’s working overtime behind the scenes and it’s completely normal to feel exhausted, depleted, spent.

But every new beginning has a culmination of discomfort beforehand. Always.
Birth hurts yet welcomes life.
As cycles close out,
you’re making space for new

The Pisces Lunar Eclipse bringing us back to themes that have been unfolding since autumn 2024.

For almost two years, the Virgo/Pisces eclipse cycle has been dismantling old patterns around control and surrender, practicality and intuition, the life we carefully organise and the things we simply have to trust.

But the Lunar Nodes have now moved into Aquarius and Leo.

Which makes this eclipse feel like the final exhale of the Virgo/Pisces chapter …one last opportunity to complete what began under these eclipses before our attention moves fully into a new cycle.

And endings have a way of bringing old material back to the surface.

You may find yourself revisiting emotions, memories, relationships or patterns you thought you had already moved beyond. Not necessarily because they are returning to your life, but because you’re finally seeing them from a place where you can release them differently.

Look at where you were two years ago.

This eclipse is asking for completion. as we move through the closing chapters of the Virgo–Pisces eclipse cycle that began in September 2024.

And this eclipse squares Uranus (planet of disruption, awakening, liberation and sudden change.) so it’s certainly going to ruffle your feathers if it isn’t already.

So if everything feels heightened, emotional, strange or unpredictable right now… there is a reason.

Pisces rules the subconscious, intuition, dreams, grief, surrender and everything buried beneath the surface.

You may be experiencing:

• emotions arriving in waves
• exhaustion or a desire to withdraw
• vivid dreams + heightened intuition
• old grief, memories or patterns resurfacing
• sudden realizations or changes of heart
• a feeling that something is ending, even if you can’t name it yet

With Uranus electrifying this eclipse, what has been stagnant can suddenly move. What you’ve tolerated can suddenly become intolerable.

Something you’ve understood intellectually for months may finally land in your body as:

I cannot keep living this way.

But Pisces asks us to feel before we fix.

Let what is dissolving, dissolve. Stop trying to control the next chapter while the old one is still closing.
ng.

Uranus breaks patterns. Pisces dissolves them.

Sometimes liberation initially looks like chaos because the structure keeping us trapped has to crack before we can see the way out.

This eclipse is a threshold.

✨The Sun is officially in Virgo with Mercury, where it is exalted in Virgo, closing in.

Virgo is a mutable Earth sign of the Virgin, one of the few signs symbolised by a human and a woman at that.

Virgo is the sign of purity, who is forever on the quest for the ideal, of what could be (and causes the problem of perfectionism).

But Virgo is also one of the most psychic signs, and this gift is often obscured behind Virgo’s blunt, critical delivery.

Virgos are analysts, editors, system builders and a Mercury-ruled sign that is often in their heads and can be severe on others and themselves. But they are ultimately driven to serve and will do the hard work.

The Virgo is the priestess of old, a woman unto herself, symbolised by the Vestal Virgins, the servants of the sacred flame whose bodies remained pure.

In Rome, six priestesses, representing the daughters of royal houses, tended the cult of Vesta, the goddess of the hearth, during the 7th century BC.

Vestal Virgins served for 30 years, during which time they had to remain virgins. Afterwards, they could marry, but few did.

Their duties included tending the perpetual fire in the Temple of Vesta, keeping their vow of chastity, fetching water from a sacred spring (Vesta would have no water from the city water-supply system), preparing ritual food, caring for objects in the temple’s inner sanctuary, and officiating at the Vestalia (June 7–15), the period of public worship of Vesta.

Vestal Virgins also enjoyed many honours and privileges not open to married or single women of equivalent social status, including emancipation from their fathers’ rule and the ability to handle their own property.

In Greek mythology, Virgo is associated with Astraea, the last immortal to abandon Earth at the end of the Silver Age, when the gods fled to Olympus, which is why Virgo is associated with Earth.

Astraea later became the constellation of Virgo.

Virgo is also related to Demeter, the Greek goddess of the harvest and autumn.

In Babylonian astronomy, dating back from approximately 1000 – 700 BC, the constellation was known as “The Furrow”, representing goddess Shala’s ear of grain and an important star in this constellation, Spica, is Latin for “ear of grain”.

Which is why Virgo is often depicted as a woman holding wheat in her hand.

In Egyptian mythology, the Sun’s presence in Virgo marked the beginning of the wheat harvest, again linking Virgo to the wheat grain.

In Christianity, the birth of Jesus to a virgin in Bethlehem is symbolically connected to Virgo. The ancient Zodiac began with Virgo and ended with Leo.

So needless to say, Virgo is not just a neat freak who likes to dust and vacuum.

Perhaps in this modern, polluted world, her neurosis stems from an unending need for purification. ✨Big Beautiful Sky

Lammas Blessings!!

✨August isn’t simply another eclipse season — it marks the beginning of a new chapter.

The historic configuration among the outer planets continues to shape the backdrop of our lives, but this month the faster-moving planets activate that larger pattern in profound ways.
Chiron stations retrograde,

Venus returns to the sign she rules, Mercury changes signs twice & two eclipses arrive two weeks apart.

A Total Solar Eclipse in Leo opens the month to fresh beginnings, while a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces closes August with a period of reflection, release & completion.

Between them, we’re invited to notice what is emerging, what is ending & what is asking for our wholehearted attention.
Save this post - I’ll be exploring each of these transits in greater depth as they unfold.

August 3 • Chiron stations retrograde
Healing becomes more reflective.
This retrograde begins a months-long invitation to revisit old wounds with greater wisdom, compassion, and perspective.

August 6 • Venus enters Libra
Venus returns to one of her home signs, emphasizing harmony, beauty, relationships, diplomacy, and finding greater balance in the way we connect with others.

August 7 • Leo Sun trine Saturn retrograde in Aries
Confidence is strengthened through patience and commitment. Creative vision finds lasting support when paired with discipline and steady effort.

August 9 • Mercury enters Leo
Communication becomes warmer, bolder, and more expressive. Ideas are shared with confidence, creativity, and heart.

August 11 • Mars enters Cancer
Energy turns toward home, family, emotional security, and protecting what matters most.
Actions become more instinctive
and deeply personal.

August 12 • New Moon in Leo • Total Solar Eclipse
One of the month’s most significant events.
Solar eclipses mark powerful new beginnings, and this Leo eclipse encourages fresh chapters involving creativity, leadership, courage, authenticity, and the expression of your unique gifts.

August 15 • Mercury conjunct Jupiter
Perspective expands. Optimism, learning, teaching, writing, conversations, and big-picture thinking receive a welcome boost.

August 23 • Sun enters Virgo
Virgo Season begins, shifting our attention toward health, organization, service, craftsmanship, and the meaningful improvements made one step at a time.

August 25 • Mercury enters Virgo
Mercury enters the sign it rules, supporting clear thinking, practical planning, careful analysis, and thoughtful communication.

August 27 • Mercury–Sun Cazimi
A moment of exceptional clarity. Fresh insights, important realizations, and renewed mental focus emerge as Mercury is purified in the heart of the Sun.

August 28 • Full Moon in Pisces •
Lunar Eclipse
The month concludes with a deeply emotional Lunar Eclipse.
Where the Solar Eclipse opened a new chapter, this eclipse
illuminates what has reached completion,
inviting release, healing, forgiveness, and trust in the unfolding process. ✨Penni Shelton‎
