INTRODUCING THE SUMMER SPRAY DOWN!

The Middletown Division of Fire is excited to help you cool off this Summer with the Summer Spray Down.

Our firefighters get a lot of requests for our trucks to appear at birthday parties, block parties, schools, daycare facilities, etc. We enjoy connecting with our residents but, the Division of Fire is no longer able to fulfill individual requests for our trucks to make stops around town. Our Firefighters/Paramedics are extremely busy, making hundreds of runs each month, keeping you and your family safe, but we have a solution.

We're going to continue to provide the same level of firehouse fun on a set schedule. This Summer Spray Down schedule allows us to make planned stops across the entire city to help you keep it cool. This schedule also ensures we get to spend equal time with residents all over Middletown.

A new study of more than 2,000 new mothers receiving support from WIC found that those who were exclusively breastfeeding at one month had significantly lower odds of elevated postpartum depression symptoms, and that was true regardless of whether or not they had planned to exclusively breastfeed.

The study also found that the majority of participants didn't meet their breastfeeding goals, underscoring just how much support matters.

Baby-Friendly designated facilities follow the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, an evidence-based framework shown to help families meet their feeding goals. Because when new parents get the support they need, the benefits extend well beyond feeding, to their emotional health and wellbeing too.
