The United Pharmacy Association - URPhA (U R PhArmacy) is a coalition made up of pharmacists, interns and technicians. We are the pharmacy professionals who play an integral role in the healthcare system, and we have an association that supports and makes our views known to important organizations like APhA, State Boards of Pharmacy, state pharmacy associations, state & federal representatives, an
d to whomever else our pharmacy community directs our voice to. URPhA is a nonprofit organization and a grassroots movement for those who work on the ground floor of the pharmacy industry and those who interact with the patients they serve. Many pharmacy professionals know how to improve the profession, but one voice at a time gets lost in a sea of many. URPhA solves that problem by using the power of numbers, and PDogg RPh. We empower pharmacy professionals to be the decision makers within the profession, by gathering their ideas, opinions, suggestions and advice and getting the information from the minds of the professionals to the right places. One main objective at URPhA is to collect survey and poll results to give an accurate picture of the voice of our profession in order to identify trending issues, and to get our collective voice heard by the right parties. The other arm of URPhA is philanthropy. The United Pharmacy Association has its own scholarship funds for education, and start up money for up-and-coming independent pharmacy owners. Proceeds from membership fees go to scholarship funds, so PLEASE BECOME A MEMBER and HELP newcomers while getting to know your pharmacy community. Members have a chance to nominate scholarship awards recipients and vote on nominees who are eligible for the rewards. Because all proceeds from membership fees go directly into the scholarship funds, the members are funding education for a potential pharmacy student and donating start up money for pharmacy entrepreneurs just by becoming a member. There are also contests and giveaways - because we need to have a great time while we are participating in, and contributing to, BEING THE CHANGE we want to see. Members of URPhA can initiate fundraising campaigns based on the personal and collective goals of our profession. It costs us nothing to circulate these around on social media and raise money for someone, for a cause, for a project and make a dream come true. Pharmacists and their staff are the experts in their profession, our voices together are powerful and will bring about awareness and positive change in the profession of pharmacy. Our website has exclusive members only features, such as the ability to propose survey and poll questions of your own - find out what others in the profession think about something that is important to you. Members propose fundraising initiatives, once approved, members work together to blast out the crowdfunding campaigns and work together to raise money for causes that the profession cares about. Members directly support the profession by knowing proceeds from membership fees will go to scholarship funds that help students and entrepreneurs. Members get the peace of mind that they took action to BE THE CHANGE. We can't do this alone, we need each other, and putting us all together will be a force to behold, especially with PDogg leading the charge. URPhA will not sell anything to its members because URPhA IS its members. URPhA is not going to aid with job placement or credentialing, there are many other people, platforms and organizations who do a great job of getting pharmacy professionals continuing education opportunities and other resources needed to thrive in the profession. URPhA is simply the honest voice of the profession. URPhA greatly respects anonymity. We don't turn away any licensed pharmacist (including retired pharmacists), pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern. We don't talk to employers, large corporations, or unions. URPhA is not even like a union, in that unions work on behalf of the members whose fees are taken out of their paycheck. Unions generally happen within individual companies. Unions fight with companies, they lobby and they have the power to strike. URPhA will not be in communication regarding negotiations of any member with the company they work for. We will not accept money from Big Pharma or big businesses within our field, such as the conglomerates and chains. URPhA is a nonprofit organization founded for the purpose of organizing and advocating for pharmacists, technicians and interns. URPhA works on behalf of all pharmacists and their staff, and relies on the licensed professionals to best communicate what is needed to protect the profession. Our Mascot: PDogg RPh. PDogg runs the “show” and spices up what might otherwise be just another association without a face. PDogg is sure to make an impression and will keep things light while keeping us all motivated. PDogg is a hard worker, funny, understanding, fiercely loyal and relates to all the underdogs who have something big to say. He has experience in celebrity and promotion as well as public speaking.
