September 2026 Nirvanic Birth Doula Trainees! I had the honor of having these 5 amazing women (and one sweet baby) for 3 days - they each have now completed the training portion of their certification process and will be heading to the field soon. This is an incredible time to step into Doula work as legislation is quickly evolving with more and more states mandating that Medicaid (40% of all births are through this insurance) cover doula services. Shout out to these graduates as they each possess the fortitude, compassion and knowledge to be a life changing force for mothers and babies. Well done everyone!

“As compared to pregnancies that were not induced at 39 weeks, induction of labor at 39 weeks was associated with an overall increased risk of perinatal death, 10.8 vs 5.8 per 10,000, 3.8 (3.5-4.2), p< 0.0001, which consisted of a decreased risk of stillbirth, 0 vs 0.7 per 10,000, and an increased risk of infant death, 10.8 vs 5.1 per 10,000, OR 4.2 (3.8-4.6), p< 0.0001. Among live birth infants, the risk of sudden infant death syndrome was more common among pregnancies induced at 39 weeks, 4.3 (3.6-5.2), p< 0.0001.”
