Supersaturated Oxygen (SSO2) Therapy

Baptist Memorial Hospital - DeSoto is the first hospital in Mississippi to improve treatment of heart attack patients with SuperSaturated Oxygen (SSO2) Therapy, the first and only FDA-approved therapy that could reduce muscle damage in heart attack patients after intervention. This is quite a milestone event as Baptist DeSoto is one of only 50 cath labs out of 2000+ nationally that are now employing this revolutionary technology. This therapy has been shown to reduce the occurrence of heart failure following a heart attack. Mass casualty incident drill

Last week, several Acadian Ambulance Mississippi team members participated in a mass casualty incident drill in partnership with Singing River Health System's Ocean Springs Hospital.

Drills like this help our team practice triaging, treating, and transporting patients efficiently during major emergencies.

We are pleased to announce that we’ve been able to extend the deadline for applications through the Mississippi Opioid Settlement Fund an extra week and still make our legislative deadlines! Congratulations Acadian!

“ A report done in 2024 by the RAND Corp. for the federal Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services found that on average, ambulance agencies are paid over $1,500 less than the costs they incur per transport. That’s true for privately insured, Medicare, Medicaid and self-pay patients, but especially in rural areas a majority of patients who use ambulance services are covered by Medicare and Medicaid.”

The RESCUE Act would require that the federal agency that oversees Medicare update its fee schedule once every three years to keep rates commensurate with the costs of caring for a patient. Jolene, Jolene,Jolene, JJJOOOOLene

You may not know this, but some time ago we named our helicopter, 723MT, Jolene. 🚁

Why Jolene? Well, she’s our “other woman” — the one who occasionally keeps us away from our families and homes on nights, weekends, and holidays.

Of course, it’s all in good fun! We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve our community, work alongside amazing people, and be there when our neighbors need us most.

But today, we honor Dolly Parton, a woman whose voice reached generations, whose kindness touched countless lives, and whose legacy will live far beyond the music she gave us. 💙💛

Dolly reminded us you can be strong and compassionate, successful, and humble, and that sometimes the greatest thing you can give someone is a helping hand. 💙💛
