Theraputty is a simple but effective tool used in hand therapy to help improve hand strength, grip, pinch, coordination, and mobility. It can be especially helpful after a hand or wrist injury, surgery, or a period of reduced use, and it can also be a great way to maintain strength and keep your hands moving as you age.

In this reel, we’re showing a few different Theraputty exercises and ways to use them as part of your hand strengthening routine.

It’s a fun way to keep your brain and body working together at any age! Whether you’re working on hand function after an injury or simply looking to challenge your coordination, give it a try!

Start with one ball in each hand. Toss both balls upward at the same time and catch them simultaneously.

Once that becomes easy, you can increase the speed or change the pattern to make the task more challenging.

It may look simple, but your brain is constantly processing where each ball is, coordinating both hands, and adjusting the movement in real time.

Could you do 10 catches without dropping one? 👀

Brain gym hand exercises combine fine motor movements with cognitive focus to boost bilateral coordination, dexterity, and neuroplasticity.

They’re a simple way to challenge coordination, motor planning, and communication between the brain and body.
