Opioids after wisdom teeth removal aren't a must, thanks to this numbing medicine.

Exparel is an FDA-approved local anesthetic applied during surgery. It lasts for 2-3 days to support patients through the most intense part of recovery with minimal pain. Unlike opioids, which affect the whole body, or other anesthetics that numb the face or tongue, Exparel only delivers relief where it’s needed.

With Exparel, patients can take Ibuprofen or Tylenol if they need additional pain relief, so there’s rarely a need for any opioid prescriptions. This means patients can avoid common opioid-related side effects like nausea, vomiting, or drowsiness and get back to normal activities faster.

Exparel is the gold standard for pain management after surgery, helping patients manage discomfort while minimizing risk.

When was the last time a surgeon came out to the waiting room, sat down next to you, and took the time to explain how a loved one’s procedure went? Not because something went wrong, but because they wanted to update you face-to-face?

Patients and their loved ones need a trusted friend to guide them through the treatment process, especially when they’re anxious about a recommended procedure. We believe treatment turns into real care when patients and their support system can connect with their care team.

This is why a member of our surgical team meets personally with post-operative caretakers after a patient’s procedure. As part of our commitment to delivering personalized care, patients also receive:

• Personalized treatment estimates after the initial consultation
• Guidance on flexible payment plan options
• Check-in texts from our office after surgery
• Access to Dr. Griffitts for follow-up questions post-procedure

After all the time you’ve spent working, planning, and saving for retirement, oral health challenges shouldn’t keep you from enjoying it.

But the reality for many retirees is that missing teeth, bone loss, and untreated tooth decay are causing problems that can’t be ignored. Mouth pain, difficulty eating or speaking, and changes in appearance can all distract from the exciting adventures they had planned.

The good news is that these concerns can be treated–so you can still make the most of the years ahead.

Our office specializes in procedures like tooth extractions, bone grafting, and dental implants to restore patients’ oral health. Dr. Griffitts, a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, has experience treating patients with complex medical histories and can help you find the right solution.

Investing in your health is key to making your next chapter your best one yet. Book a consultation at the link in bio!
