I believe one huge benefit of Facebook is to support, encourage and educate one another about our individual businesses and areas of expertise. .. So that we, in turn, can educate our community in the things we have learned from each other.
That being said, I would like to request the help of each and every one of you in my effort to clear up the enormous (and potentially dangerous) misconceptions the majority of people seem to have where colon hydrotherapy is concerned.
I am a TRAINED and CERTIFIED therapist through the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION for COLON THERAPY. I maintain malpractice insurance just as physicians are required to do. I use ONLY FDA APPROVED equipment and SUPPLIES. My FDA CLASS II MEDICAL DEVICE uses CARBON FILTERED, ULTRA-VIOLET PURIFIED water. These devices can cost up to $30,000 depending on the brand/manufacturer. I am not operating out of a back room in my house, using buckets, boards and water bags.
Unfortunately, there have been, and still are, individuals doing that who call themselves colon therapists. Additionally unfortunate is that the state of Missouri has no laws or legislation regulating this practice. As a result, vast numbers of people have contracted bacterial infections and became seriously ill from receiving services from someone who was not a trained and certified therapist, using FDA approved equipment and supplies. There have even been deaths reported in some states. Obviously those states now how laws requiring certification for this practice, but it’s a shame it took people dying to get that legislation in to place.
Contrarily, there are no reported deaths in any state from certified therapists who use FDA Approved equipment and supplies and who operate within FDA guidelines.
If you have received services from someone who operates without a certification and you had a positive experience and did not contract any infections or disease, then you are one of the few. I thank God you are not one of the horrifying statistics. More often than not though, things do not turn out well in that situation.
As a result of those horrifying statistics caused by un-certified individuals, the practice of colon hydrotherapy in general has received a huge black eye and bad reputation. This is a difficult hurdle to overcome for those of us who ARE certified and operating in accordance with FDA guidelines. Going to a certified therapist truly is the safest way to experience colon hydrotherapy.
In addition, many people have been taught that colon hydrotherapy is the same as an e***a. Well…. IT IS NOT. Enemas contain harsh drugs, chemicals and/or stimulants which are designed to “shock” the colon in an effort to force it to release its contents. Sadly, those products at best only address the lower 4 to 7 inches of the re**um. In addition, those methods can be potentially damaging to the stretch receptor cells of the colon, along with possibly damaging other organs, tissues and cells as well.
In contrast, colon hydrotherapy provides a Drug-Free gentle bathing and cleansing of the entire 5 to 6 feet of colon/large intestine. Replenishing Probiotics are then infused toward the end of any session if the client so desires. I encourage you to visit www.healthiercolon.info for detailed information regarding the entire process and the FDA Device I use.
So what I’m asking of you all is this: Should it ever come up in conversation with your friends, family, co-workers, etc… Please help me to dispel the misconceptions of this holistic practice by educating them with the truth I have shared with you here.
Thank you all for your support.
