I think most of you know my stance on digital ID. If this is ever required in the US, I am officially done with social media.
The video clip is such a sad reality. We are so tied to our phones that we forget to live and enjoy the company of people and the nature around us. I had a tough weekend. The grief just hit me like a tornado. I don't know why but it felt like I lost my son all over again. I tried going for a walk. I tried sitting in the sun. I finally got distracted by a podcast that only worsened things due to the state of our country. I spent way tooooo much time on social media instead of reaching out to friends and spending time with people.
In today's world, I do not see our phones going away. I am going to start being better about my days off and trying to leave my phone alone. It has become an addiction to check my phone repeatedly during the day. I think most of us are guilty of that. When I am bored, I reach for the phone and doom scroll on social media. That is not helping my mental state or my healing process. I am going to try to be better about that. It has been an unhealthy distraction that needs to stop. I feel a little embarrassed how much of a coping mechanism social media has become after Sean died.
If social media required a digital ID would you accept?
