Functional Medicine/Primary Care in the Helena Area with virtual appointments in MT, ID, ND, SD, WY, FL, and MN.

Individualized medicine where the goal is ultimate health and wellness, no symptom masking. Hello, my name is Laura Rear. I am a certified nurse practitioner with a doctorate in nursing practice. I started Rocky Mountain Health and Healing in January of 2022. I struggled my entire adult life with chronic headaches/migraines. The traditional medical system was unable to cure my headaches and only p

rovided pharmaceutical Band Aids that ended with significant adverse effects. I started researching different “out of the box” etiologies and found I was toxic for heavy metals. I found great products and lifestyle choices to help my body detox and I am happy to report, my daily headaches are gone. My passion is working with my patients to get at the root cause of disease and hopefully improve quality of life. I offer individual consultations for those with a primary care provider just looking for another opinion or provide direct primary care services for those who desire a primary care provider. Having worked as a primary care provider in a large healthcare system, I understand the push for providers to see 20+ patients per day with high patient load volumes. My direct primary care (DPC) patients have direct access to me via phone, text, or electronic medical record messages. I will not take on more than 150-200 patients total in my practice so I am available if a patient needs me. We have misconceptions that healthcare needs to occur in multimillion dollar facilities. The reality is, healthcare can occur in your home and actually allows me to get to know you on a personal level. My DPC members have the advantage of having home visits, while all other patients will be seen at my office (685 Barney Street, Suite B in Helena). Health is more than a symptom. To acquire true health and wellness, it is vital to know a person’s entire history, which requires longer initial visits. This is challenging when a provider can only spend 15-20 minutes with a patient. I will take the time needed to really know you and your journey with a minimum of 1-2 hour appointments. If you are interested in acquiring true health and wellness, please visit rockymountainhealthhealing.org or call 406-451-0171 for more details.

Happy Labor Day!!! I have had a productive and relaxing 4 day weekend. I did a bunch of organizing at home and have worked some. This week is busy since Robyn is starting at the VA tomorrow. I am double and triple booked in spots this week so please have some patience with messages. I promise I will get back to everyone.

I have been reading a lot this weekend on energy and frequencies. The Body Electric is a intense book but is an intriguing read. I have also been reading a ton on past traumas and how that energy will get stored in our bodies, preventing healing. It is rare to find a chronically ill person who doesn't have a trauma history. Even in relatively health people with good upbringings, when probed about a cancer diagnosis, they will admit to an emotional trauma that happened right before the diagnosis. My body is not insulin resistant based on my lifestyle. I wholeheartedly believe that the insulin resistance in my body is directly related to the trauma of my son's and mother's death.

There is good and bad frequencies. As I have discussed in the past, EMFs from cell phone towers (5G and the rollout of 6G), technologic devices (cell phones, laptops, etc), and Wifi are all very dangerous frequencies to our bodies. I was listening to a podcast with a doctor who treats a lot of mold patients. He ended up with a heart attack in his 30's from mold and other toxins in his body. He discussed how the harmful frequencies will delay or even prevent healing from taking place. I cannot tell you how many of my patients who still wear Apple Watches and other wearable devices that are emitting harmful frequencies 24/7. I used to wear an Apple Watch but it burnt in our house fire. I know too much now to ever consider wearing such a device but my eyes have been slowly opening to all the dangers of the world. I understand that wearable devices that connect to bluetooth can be helpful in someone's health journey. But for me, it would cause my body more harm than good. So I avoid them all.

I am really starting to believe the future of medicine is going to be frequencies and energy. I wish I understood quantum physics more but regardless, we are all energy/frequency beings. It is actually quite fascinating to read about the body from a frequency standpoint.

The Elysium device has moved to crating so would assume it is being shipped this week sometime. I still have to go through the one-on-one training with the company. I am hopeful our schedules align to get this done quickly. I have quite a few patients scheduled for October. Remember, if you won a free session, please reach out to get scheduled. I am planning on taking a week off in October to see my daughter and grandbabies so spots will be more limited.

Happy Monday!

Being a woman in 2026 can be confusing, especially for those of us in perimenopause or even menopause. We are told by some that we need >100 grams of protein a day. Others who say our bodies cannot process more than 50 grams of protein at a time. We need to be lifting heavy weights. While others push cardio and HIIT classes. We need 7-9 hours of sleep every night. While others say 5-6 hours if fine if you are getting into a REM sleep. We should be cold plunging. Wait, we should be sitting in a sauna. No saunas make the hot flashes worse. We should be taking supplements. No supplements are bad. It can all be too much while we are barely getting by with hot flashes, interrupted sleep, weight gain (despite not doing anything different), mood changes, and brain fog.

I have many aging women that decline HRT since they want their "body to age naturally". Or the argument of not wanting to put pharmaceuticals in their bodies. While I get all of that, there is so much that most women do not realize when it comes to perimenopause and menopause and the benefits of hormones. If I am trying to get someone's body back into balance, I will fail every single time if the hormones are not optimized. That includes thyroid hormones.

As women, we are born with 1-2 million eggs. Our eggs are actually the highest around 20 weeks gestation (2-3x the amount we are actually born with). We will continue to deplete our egg reserves as we age. By the age of 45, we have only a few thousand eggs left. Why is this important, outside of fertility? Because the majority of our estrogen is actually made from the eggs that we have. So by 45, we have a lot less available estrogen.

Why is maintaining a good level of estrogen a high priority as we age? We have both alpha and beta estrogen receptors. It might be surprising to learn that we have estrogen receptors in our brains, our liver, our heart, our bones, in our muscles, in our skin, in our bladder, and of course in our uterus and other lady parts (to name a few). When we think of perimenopause/menopause symptoms, we must relate to the parts of the body that are becoming estrogen depleted. Brain fog, fatigue, low muscle mass, weight gain, thinning hair, wrinkles/thin skin, low s*x drive, painful s*x, urinary incontinence, etc. These organs and tissues are used to having an abundance of estrogen and start to struggle when the estrogen starts to deplete. Unfortunately, hormone testing in the perimenopausal state is not great. Estrogen can be low. Estrogen can be high. It can be constantly fluctuating, making is very difficult to determine a dosage for estrogen. Blood testing is the cheapest but it can be challenging during the perimenopausal state. I will often make a women do a few blood hormone tests before prescribing estradiol. The DUTCH test or even ZRT saliva testing can be a little more reliable but most people do not want to spend $300+ on one lab test, especially when multiple tests will be required to monitor HRT.

Newer studies are showing an overall longevity benefit in starting HRT during perimenopause vs waiting until after menopause. The most ideal timeline is around 45-55 years of age (although some women will need HRT earlier). At around age 35, a women is also losing testosterone. Low s*x drive is a very common complaint that will increase when testosterone is given. Most women have very low progesterone levels, even during their 30's and 40's.

It is true that if the body is overwhelmed with toxicity (from lifestyle and/or our environment) hormones will be dysfunctional. Cleaning your fish tank that I have discussed multiple times in the past is highly encouraged. However, there is no amount of detoxing or biohacking that will lead to a woman developing more eggs and thus optimal estrogen into her 50's, 60's, 70's, plus. As estrogen depletes, there is a significant increased risk of heart attack and stroke every year a woman lives post menopause. That risk is reversed with HRT.

Bioidentical HRT creates hormones that are bioidentical to what all of the organs and tissues are used to having. A woman can age without all the negative symptoms of low hormone levels. My mother had a hysterectomy in her 30's. She was initially put on HRT (likely not the right ones) but then was pulled off everything decades ago. She had osteoporosis. She had several falls that resulted in broken bones. As she aged, those falls took longer and longer to recover from. We do have estrogen receptors in our colons. I have to wonder if there was any correlation between a depletion of her estrogen in those tissues and her colon cancer🧐

Thankfully, we live in a country where we can still make decisions regarding our bodies. If you are struggling with perimenopausal or menopausal symptoms but have fear about going on HRT, please find a provider that can have an honest conversation. There is no reason a woman has to suffer in 2026. We can give hormones safely to women. But please find a provider that is knowledgeable. If HRT is done inappropriately, there can be more risks than benefits.

"The MIT study explores the cognitive cost of using large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, indicating that reliance on these tools may lead to a decrease in critical thinking and learning skills over time. Participants who used LLMs for essay writing showed reduced brain connectivity and performed worse compared to those who relied solely on their own cognitive abilities."

Definitely an interesting study for those that rely on ChatGPT and others🥲 It was a small study but more studies should be done to determine the long term effects on our brains.

I got an email yesterday that my device is being sent to crating so it should be shipped next week🥰 If you won a free session in the Elysium device, please reach out to schedule your session or go online and schedule it. October is going to fill up fast.

Happy Saturday!

I had never heard the name Dr. Anthony Holland until I saw this post. But apparently he is doing research showing cancer death with resonate frequencies.

You can find one of his papers here: https://files.resonantlight.com/dropbox/Dr.Holland_DCRFF-Paper.pdf?_gl=1*3e4m18*_gcl_au*NzY2MDU5NTIzLjE3ODg1NDM2Nzc.*_ga*OTA1MjM0Njc4LjE3ODg1NDM2Nzc.*_ga_W5LJ5N0RYJ*czE3ODg1NDM2NzckbzEkZzEkdDE3ODg1NDM3MjAkajYwJGwwJGgxNzA3MjE3MzUy*_ga_GP6TBV5KPY*czE3ODg1NDM2NzckbzEkZzEkdDE3ODg1NDM3MjEkajE2JGwwJGgw

He has done a Ted Talk with 2.4 million views: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w0_kazbb_U

Cancer treatment is a billion dollar industry. There is no incentive to actually find a cure. But if a frequency can kill a bacteria or virus, why couldn't it kill a cancer cell? I think the future of medicine will be frequency. If the powers that be actually allow it to happen.

On a side note, the Elysium pulses 400,000 to 2,000,000 Hz. Cannot wait to get in that machine🥰 I am officially listed on their website: https://arrcled.com/locations/helena-mt-red-light-therapy/

I think there is always guilt when a parent loses a child. But with a su***de, that guilt can be heart crushing. The "what ifs" are nauseating. I wish my son's story could have been different. But it can be different for someone else.

We live in a world that is defeating in so many ways. We need to learn to be kind and love each other vs hating each other. We need to be united vs divided. The incidence of su***de is increasing significantly. We must address why this is and work on ways to fix it.

Obviously, I don't have the answers. I failed my son. But there is someone out there today that could make a different decision if they felt loved, wanted, and important.

I would give anything to hear my son's voice again. If heaven had visiting hours, I would grab him and never let go. They would have to kick me out!

It costs nothing to be kind and show love to people. A simple smile could change a struggling person's perspective. Be kind today and always!

Love and miss you Seanie❤️

08/31/2026

As most of you know, I do not accept insurance in my practice. This has been a huge barrier for many people. It has kept my practice smaller and will ensure that I am never a millionaire. But knowing what I know about the corruption of Big Insurance, Big Healthcare, and Big Pharma, I couldn't sell my soul for more patients and more money.

I keep seeing changes that are coming in 2027 for those who use insurance. Not sure if this is across the board or just with Medicare. Typically, when Medicare makes a change, the rest follow suit. Right now if you go into a clinic for an annual exam and have a wart on your finger, that wart can be frozen off during the same appointment. In 2027, you will have to schedule a follow up appointment, which means another office visit charge. Why would such a change be necessary? Patients already get, at the most 15-20 minutes with the actual provider. How many appointments will it take to get through all the concerns a patient has? The only rational explanation is greed and money.

I do not think most people actually look at their billing statements. Their copay is $50 so they pay the copay and do not think twice about it. How much was that annual visit? How much were those labs? That mammogram? The colonoscopy? How much money is actually being exchanged between your insurance and the healthcare system you use? If you have private insurance, I can assure you are being charged the highest rate possible. It could be $400+ for the exam visit and $1600 for the lab work. You don't care because your copay is $50. But this allows the gouging to continue. If I can do the most comprehensive yearly lab panel for under $300, why can't a large healthcare system do the same? Oh wait, they can! They just choose to gouge people and make a huge profit off of every person that walks through the door. And now with changes coming in 2027, they will make even more by requiring more office visits during the year.

What I don't understand is why Medicare and private insurances would want to pay more? Why wouldn't your insurance company fight for lower costs and less frequent appointments? Why wouldn't a government funded health insurance like Medicare not want more cost effective care? For me the answer is clear. They are all in it together. The system is so big and so corrupt that every player is making a ton of money. There is no incentive to help you the actual patient.

Money makes the world go round. I cannot fault a clinic for accepting insurance and taking advantage of that insurance. I personally choose not to participate in the corruption. But I am the minority. A successful practice will accept and bill every insurance. They will have a ton of axillary staff so the provider only needs 10-20 minutes with the patient but will bill for a full 30 minute visit. The clinic will schedule patients every 15-30 minutes through the day. The provider will be seeing between 20-30+ patients in a day. That is our current healthcare system in a nutshell. The truly sad part is that most of the population believes this to be good care. We are enticed by Big and Brand new facilities. A multi-million dollar building must equate to quality care, right? It is sad how many are so blinded to the corruption of the healthcare system🥲

When your eyes are open, it is hard to comprehend why some people cannot see it. But I also get it. If someone would have told me while I was in nursing school that vaccines were harming children, I would have laughed in their face. I was completely blinded and a 4.0 student. I believed in research and in my education. Boy have things changed 🙃

Looking at statistics that show Americans are some of the unhealthiest humans alive, despite having all the resources, is depressing. Obviously, the standard American diet is the reason for much of the chronic disease states. But it is not the whole picture. It is refreshing to see a movement to clean up our food. Less seed oils and toxins is always a good thing. But it doesn't fix chemtrails, toxic water, GMOs, and nanotechnology that corrupts even the whole foods we eat. We have to accept the fact that we are constantly being poisoned. And obviously, this has been occurring for decades.

It is quite disturbing to realize there have been government operations, like project Artichoke, to keep us in a chronic diseased state. This shouldn't shock me but I guess I figured this agenda was a little more recent.

The best we can do is avoid the toxins we know about. I am not sure there is a food today that isn't contaminated in some way.

I am off to eat my breakfast (eggs, kimchi, yogurt, Manuka honey). Happy Sunday!!!

It is rare anymore to have a really blue sky. It happens but it is not the norm these days🥲

My husband has excellent detoxing genetics. Mold and toxins do not impact him like they do me. His body would respond well to eating healthy, fasting, grounding, etc. My body is an extremely poor detoxifier. I can fast, eat extremely healthy, exercise everyday, ground, etc and I will become chronically ill with toxin exposure. It can be frustrating and feel defeating when someone points out that they did all the right things and their life completely changed. That is wonderful for them but it is not the reality for me personally or many of my patients. Yes, our bodies are designed perfectly to heal. But many of us were not dealt the healthy gene hand in this life.

I did a home visit this week in a house where there is smoking and mold. I know better and should have taken activated charcoal before going in, but I didn't. I had to come home and take a shower immediately and then suffered from a headache the rest of the night that lasted into yesterday afternoon. I woke up this morning feeling better. I was in that home for 45 minutes and had over 24 hours of symptoms afterwards. I eat healthy. I fast. I ground. I haven't been in my HOCATT recently but just had an EBOO on Monday. Thankfully because of all I do, my symptoms were only 24 hours and not decades like before.

What works for one person, doesn't mean it will work for another. Lifestyle is absolutely a priority. But not everyone will heal with lifestyle alone. Give grace to people who do not have the same results. Our bodies are complex and our world is very toxic.

Some updates on the Elysium: it is currently in production but should be out of production next week. It will then move to crating so it can be shipped. Hopefully it will arrive mid September. I do need to complete one-on-one training so realistically will likely not start scheduling people until October. Plus, my September is almost completely booked as of today. For those that were winners of the free Elysium session, you can go onto my website and book an appointment in October or contact me and I can get you scheduled.

Since I know my body is a poor detoxifier, I am so excited to get into the Elysium. While I understand we can get frequency healing from the earth and the sun, my body doesn't respond the way it will to a powerful energy healing bed. I am happy for people who can heal despite this toxic world. But my body is just not that lucky without some additional treatments. It doesn't mean that my body has failed. It just means my body needs more help to attain the same healing.

Enjoy the cooler/wetter weekend! Happy Saturday🥰
