You can HIT your calories and still MISS your health 🄲🫠

Someone can eat ā€œlow calā€ …but it’s almost always processed foods…artificial sweeteners (always marketed ā€œZERO CALORIES šŸ¤©ā€)….low protein, low nutrient..and YES!! You WILL still lose weight.

BUT INSIDE!!
Your insulin signaling is WAY off, your inflammation is still high, your mitochondrial function is weak. 🧬🤯

PLEASE HEAR ME WHEN I SAY- Skinny DOES NOT EQUAL healthy!

If you are strictly calorie counting…It ignores nutrient density. Calories do NOT tell you: vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids.

So someone hits their calories but is malnourished at the cellular level. So now we have new problems! How bout muscle loss instead of fat loss!?

LETS TALK ABOUT WHY I HATE THE METHYLENE BLUE FAD AS A CELLULAR MEDICINE DOCTOR 🧬🧬🧬

šŸ¤“ So from a cellular medicine perspective…I’m really not a fan of this long term. Main reason is that it’s not actually SUPPORTIVE to the body, it’s FORCING the body. And that’s a big no no when you understand the cells. It doesn’t truly heal your mitochondria… it just demands them to do something that bypasses the normal healthy rhythm of them. So it bypasses normal electron transport (which is just the little supply chain process the body uses to create energy) …so youre now pushing electrons through the system forcefully and skipping steps IN that supply chain. So YES that can temporarily increase ATP (which is where the fad claim behind it for energy boosting bu****it comes from), but it’s doing that by overriding the body’s own signaling. In cellular medicine, we want to RESTORE communication and regulation and fix that broken signal problem as to WHY your body is needing that extra energy and not making enough….NOT override it. So anytime you force physiology, you will end up creating dysregulation somewhere else down the line. šŸ„¹šŸ˜–

šŸ”„Another issue is that it can increase oxidative stress in the wrong environment. It can act as both an antioxidant (which is good) but also is can (and will) eventually turn into a pro-oxidant (BAD)… depending on the redox state of the person. So it can actually increase reactive oxygen species (bad guys) and cause mitochondrial stress instead of reducing it šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØšŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØšŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØšŸ„“šŸ„“šŸ„“

🧠THENNNNN!! The nitric oxide piece is a big one for me too. Nitric oxide is critical for your vascular health, microcirculation, mitochondrial signaling, and brain oxygenation. Methylene blue inhibits nitric oxide pathways. That might help in certain acute situations, but long term it can IMPAIR blood flow, endothelial function, and oxygen delivery, especially to the brain!! 😬😬😬 nobody wants less oxygen to the brain!?😫 That’s not something I want to suppress in someone I’m trying to heal!? 🤣🤣

🧬Therefore: If we rely on something that forces electron flow instead of restoring the broken pathways you’re going to actually reduce the body’s ability to regulate itself (more) over time…. So to ME…it’s just a very symptom driven fad treatment instead of root cause medicine. It absolutely has a role in acute medicine like poisoning or severe shock and it’s proven to help tremendously in the right need/setting! but for chronic fatigue, brain fog, longevity, and cellular repair, I’d much rather rebuild signaling (WITH VARIOUS PEPTIDES WHICH ARE NATURAL TO THE BODY!šŸ˜šŸ™ƒ), instead of overriding the system.

Let’s talk about osteoporosis… because it is NOT just about calcium supplementation šŸ‘€

Did you know… it’s really a SIGNALING issue!? šŸ™ŠšŸ¤ÆšŸ›œšŸ§¬

The body doesn’t suddenly start losing bone because it stopped getting calcium. Most people with osteoporosis are already consuming enough calcium, believe it or not. The real problem is that the body is no longer properly directing calcium into the bone where it belongs.

So what’s actually happening? It’s a communication breakdown.

And here’s where it gets even more important…

After about age 50, bone loss is no longer driven mainly by nutrient deficiency. It becomes a hormone and immune signaling problem. Bone breakdown begins to outpace bone formation, and simply taking more calcium does not correct the underlying issue.

This is where the parathyroid glands come in. These tiny glands produce parathyroid hormone, or PTH, which is the master regulator of bone health. WHY does this get overlooked and dismissed!?

PTH controls calcium balance, vitamin D activation, and the entire process of bone remodeling. When PTH signaling becomes dysregulated, calcium can start depositing in arteries and soft tissues instead of building strong bone. This is why so many people have both osteoporosis and vascular calcification at the same time.

So no… taking more calcium alone does not fix this. In fact, excess calcium without proper signaling can actually worsen arterial calcification as we age.

This is why my approach focuses on restoring the body’s communication first. Instead of simply replacing nutrients, we work upstream to restore the glands and signaling pathways that regulate bone metabolism. When the parathyroid, endocrine, and immune system begin functioning properly again, the body can finally direct calcium back into the bones where it belongs.
