✨ Motivational Monday ✨

A new week means another opportunity to move forward, build momentum, and give yourself credit for every step along the way.

You don’t have to have the whole week figured out today — just focus on the next step.

It’s also the last day of August — let’s make the most of it and head into September strong! 💙

👋 MEET THE TEAM: KAYCIE! 💙

We’re excited to introduce Kaycie, one of the newest members of the Inspired Physiotherapy – Hermitage team! 🎉

Kaycie earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Tennessee State University in May 2026 and is excited to begin her career helping patients move better, feel stronger, and get back to doing the things they love!

Originally from Fresno, California, Kaycie made her way to the South to attend Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology while playing collegiate softball. 🥎 During that time, her family relocated to Nashville, and it didn’t take long for Kaycie to fall in love with Middle Tennessee and decide to call it home!

As a physical therapist, Kaycie has a special interest in pelvic health and general orthopedic rehabilitation and is passionate about creating individualized care that helps her patients reach their goals.

When she’s not in the clinic, you can find Kaycie:
🥾 Hiking with her pup
🎹 Playing piano
🏋️‍♀️ Working out
📺 Binge-watching her favorite shows with her fiancé

We’re thrilled to have Kaycie here in Hermitage and can’t wait for our patients and community to get to know her! 💙

Help us give Kaycie a warm welcome to the Inspired Physiotherapy family! 👋

Recovery is built through the small moments that often go unnoticed.

Completing your exercises, staying consistent with your treatment plan, and celebrating even the smallest improvements all add up over time. Progress isn’t always measured in giant leaps—sometimes it’s found in the little victories that happen each day.

Wherever you are in your recovery, keep showing up. Your future self will thank you. 💚

🌿 Motivational Monday 🌿

Life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges our way. While we can’t always choose what happens, we can choose how we respond. Focus your energy on what you can do today—one positive decision, one healthy habit, one step forward. Sometimes the greatest progress begins with simply releasing the weight you were never meant to carry.

Wishing you a week filled with peace, strength, and steady progress. 💙

🚶‍♂️Did you step funny and hear a pop? Now you are limping around? It could be an inversion ankle sprain.

An inversion ankle sprain is the most common type of ankle sprain, making up nearly 80–90% of all ankle ligament injuries. It happens when the foot rolls inward, placing stress on the ligaments along the outside of the ankle.

Common signs and symptoms include:
👣 Pain on the outside of the ankle
💥 A popping sensation at the time of injury
🤕 Swelling and bruising
🚶 Difficulty walking
⚖️ Feeling like the ankle wants to “give out”

While many people assume rest alone is enough, research shows that early, protected movement combined with physical therapy often leads to better outcomes than prolonged immobilization for most mild to moderate ankle sprains.

A comprehensive rehabilitation program focuses on:
✅ Restoring ankle mobility
💪 Rebuilding strength
⚖️ Improving balance and proprioception
🏃 Helping you safely return to work, daily activities, and sports while reducing the risk of future sprains.

If you’ve recently rolled your ankle—or you’re still dealing with pain, stiffness, or instability from an old injury—don’t ignore it. Addressing the problem early can help prevent recurring sprains and chronic ankle instability.

If you have questions about ankle sprains or would like to see if physical therapy may be right for you, we’re here to help!

💪 Every step forward counts—even the ones that feel small.

Healing, building strength, and reaching your goals don’t happen overnight. The exercises that challenge you today, the progress that feels slow, and the effort you put in each day are all helping build a stronger, more confident tomorrow.

Keep showing up. Keep trusting the process. You’ve got this! 🌟

🏃‍♀️ One step at a time.
💙 One victory at a time.
🙌 One stronger day at a time.

🍑 Pain in your butt… that shoots down your leg? It might not be your back.

Piriformis Syndrome occurs when the piriformis muscle—located deep in the buttock—irritates the sciatic nerve. This can cause symptoms similar to sciatica, including pain, tingling, or numbness that travels down the back of the leg.

Common symptoms include:
✅ Deep pain in one buttock
✅ Pain that radiates down the back of the leg
✅ Increased discomfort with prolonged sitting
✅ Pain when climbing stairs, walking uphill, or running
✅ Tingling or numbness into the leg

The good news? Most people improve with conservative treatment.

Physical therapy can help by:
✔️ Reducing pressure on the sciatic nerve
✔️ Improving hip flexibility and mobility
✔️ Strengthening the hips and core
✔️ Correcting movement patterns that contribute to pain
✔️ Helping you return to the activities you enjoy—without surgery

If buttock pain or “sciatica-like” symptoms are limiting your daily life, don’t ignore them. A physical therapist can identify the underlying cause and develop a personalized treatment plan to help you move with confidence again.
