Our methods will range from traditional orchard, aquaponics, organic and sustainable farming practices. A large portion of our acres will remain fields for pastured livestock; chickens, lambs, goats, and our future five year plan to raise a small heard of buffalo a.k.a bison. Our food and livestock will all be grown on our farm using sustainable, permaculture and organic practices. We intend on ho
sting a few honey bee hives for an overall balanced environment. We will be committed to growing nutritious, fresh from the field food on land that is healthy for plants, animals, and people. We will not use hazardous synthetic chemical herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizers. Our plan is to use cover crops, physical barriers, companion planting, mulch, compost, and other natural methods to manage weeds and pests and improve soil fertility. Our farm is enrolled as part of the “Green Belt.”
We will avoid planting any genetically engineered seed, with an emphasis on organic and heirloom varieties that cannot be found on most supermarket shelves. We will strive to bring the best flavor and quality goods to our family's table and our new community, while leaving our corner of Hickman County better than when we found it.
