We’re headed home! 😊

As many of you know, Willa started treatment a couple of weeks ago. After each dose, giving her medication became more and more difficult as she became less cooperative. After a lot of thought, we made the difficult decision to ask her oncologist about placing a G-tube solely for administering her medications. Given everything she’s been through, they agreed it was the best option for our situation.

Today, Willa had surgery to have her G-tube placed. The procedure went well, and we’re staying overnight with plans to be discharged tomorrow.

Watching a two-year-old try to understand why there are so many medical devices, bandages, and changes to her little body is incredibly hard. But if there’s one thing Willa continues to show us, it’s just how strong she is. She keeps facing each new challenge with more courage than anyone could imagine.

Thank you to everyone who continues to pray for her, think of her, and support our family. Every message, prayer, and act of kindness means more than you’ll ever know.

Our little warrior keeps fighting, and we’ll keep fighting right beside her.💛🧠🎗️🩶

We’ve had a busy week. On Tuesday, Willa had an MRI in South County, and today she had surgery at the big hospital to have a port placed for future medications.

The best news is that her scans look great! There were a few spots on previous scans that her team was monitoring closely, and they were completely gone this time.

Willa’s port procedure went smoothly, and we are already on our way home recovering and resting.

Willa will begin her first round of her new medication in July. Some treatments will be done at home, while others will require biweekly hospital visits for infusions.

We are incredibly grateful for this positive update and remain so thankful for the continued support, prayers, encouragement, and good vibes from everyone who has followed Willa’s journey. We are truly blessed and appreciate each and every one of you.

Willa has been doing better than ever since her spinal surgery in March. She has made incredible progress in therapy, her day-to-day activities, her speech, and even her willingness to try new foods! I am SO proud of her.

Next week, Willa will have an MRI of her brain and spine to check on everything. If her scans look good, her team will move forward with placing a port. Because she is still too young for the treatment they would normally turn to—radiation—they have created a different plan. Willa will take multiple oral medications, including chemotherapy pills, and receive an IV medication through her port that works hand in hand with the chemo. We will make trips every other week for those infusions.

Thankfully, the chemotherapy pills she will be taking typically have far fewer side effects than traditional chemotherapy.

Please keep Willa in your thoughts and prayers this week and next as we hope everything remains stable or, even better, continues to improve.

I’m sorry for the delay in updates—we’ve truly just been busy living our best lives and soaking up every good moment. 💛🎗️

🥁🥁🥁🥁HOME BOUND!!!

After finishing her 24 hours of flat time, we tried therapy — and in true Willa fashion, she tried to sit straight up on her own. It hurt and scared her, so this morning she wanted nothing but to lay and rest.
But a few hours later? She was READY.
She got up, walked the halls with her therapists, played in the gym, and showed everyone just how strong she is.

Her neurosurgeon saw no reason to keep us any longer — 48 hours post spinal surgery and this girl is unstoppable. 🥹💛
We love our brave girl more than words could ever tell.

Willa had her MRI this morning and the scans looked good! We meet with her oncologist tomorrow to talk about the plan moving forward. We’re officially out of the PICU and on a regular floor now, which feels like such a big step.🥹

She’ll start therapies tomorrow — fingers crossed she tolerates everything well. Thank you all for the continued prayers, love, and support. 🎗️💛
