The Beauty of Grief

At a time when I was at my lowest, I looked to the sky for hope.

I asked the water to help me breathe, to share my grief when all I could do was float.

The waves nurtured me, the sea held me.
The sky reminded me that somewhere among my own stormy clouds, there was the sun.

The moon guided me in quiet companionship.

Nature has a way of holding us when we have been stripped away. When the feeling is raw and rare and real.

The trees guide us and ground us. The sky expands our minds to that which lies beyond the horizon, beyond what we can currently see in our field of vision.

And slowly, the sparks came back.

The sparkles of twinkling light in the periphery,
winking their existence into being.

Slowly, slowly.

🌺

Love never leaves us, it transforms us.

It allows us to grow into who we may yet still be becoming.

I am thankful for the darkness, my darkness. 🖤

For without its magic, I would not be able to find my light.

I wonder if you can recognize that the same magic of nature that resides all around us is also inside of us. We are one and the same.

You may be closer than you think, closer than what your thoughts tell you. Closer than the narrative that’s been woven inside the mind.

Tune in, breathe, and keep going. You may be surprised at just how expansive and abundant you can become in a few days’ time, as well.
