We had a great time celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival after Tai Chi in the Park last Friday! 🌕✨ We celebrated by sharing mooncakes and tea amongst friends after class and enjoyed spending time together.
As autumn sets in, we pause to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节) — a sacred time of harvest, gratitude, and gathering under the brightest full moon of the year.
• In traditional Chinese philosophy, the full moon represents wholeness, harmony, and completeness (Yuan Man 圆满)
• It is a natural reflection of everything we cultivate: balance between Yin and Yang, quiet inner focus, and strong community connection.
The Qi of Autumn: Cultivating Yin & Harmony
Gathering Energy (Yin Rising): Autumn is the seasonal transition where nature slows down and pulls its energy inward. Through gentle Qi Gong breathing and slow Tai Chi movements, we honor this natural rhythm, clearing stagnant energy and replenishing our vital Qi.
Reflecting Brightness: Just as the clear autumn sky reflects the fullness of the moon, regular practice brings clarity to the mind and stillness to the body.
Community & Togetherness: Above all, Mid-Autumn is about connection. We are deeply grateful for each student and practitioner who shares this journey toward health, peace, and longevity with us.
