Proud to have been a part of the mission and to have partnered with my powerhouse sponsor and my incredibly supportive team who together raised enough money to fund seven research grants for cancer research.
As I reflect on this huge personal milestone in my life, coupled with the horrors going on in Afghanistan right now, my heart breaks for the women that have worked hard for their rights, successes, careers and education, and now feel hopeless to prevent the progress from being erased.
I feel grateful that by chance I was born in the land of the free where although there are glass ceilings, women have started to break through them. I am appreciative that I was able to freely pursue higher education and graduate with my masters when many women aren’t given the right or access to education. I feel honored that I had the opportunity to positively impact cancer research through LLS. So as a free woman, I will use my voice for other woman that aren’t able to use theirs.
I encourage us all to reflect on the privileges we are given in this country just by being born an American citizen and find a way to help those in crisis right now. Whether it’s a donation, spreading the word, helping refugees find a home, connecting people to resources, volunteering or using your talent for good, we all have the ability to help others in need.
I am donating to and trying to educate myself on other ways to help from afar. Please share ways you are helping or plan to help during this Afghanistan crisis I. The comments below ⬇️ and together let’s spread good, hope and ways to make a positive impact.
