Psalm 144:1 Hi, I’m Heather.

I’m a retired police detective with 19 years of experience and a certified NRA and USCCA firearms instructor. I created Hartman Tactics to help women and families take control of their safety through training that’s real, supportive, and built for everyday life. I spent nearly two decades investigating violent crimes, homicides, sex assaults, and crimes against children. I know what’s at stake when people aren’t prepared. That’s why I teach with purpose and keep things clear, grounded, and direct. My goal is to help you feel confident, strong, informed, and capable. I believe women are not only worth protecting, but fully capable of protecting themselves and the people they love. I believe there’s life after trauma. I help you learn to trust your gut again. Whether you're new to firearms, returning after time away, or simply want to feel more situationally aware and empowered—I’ll meet you where you’re at and guide you every step of the way. When I’m not teaching, I’m home in Texas with my two dogs, Sailor and Ernie. I believe in truth, responsibility, faith, and freedom, and I’m here to help you walk in all of it. A little backstory here I posted an introduction video on TikTok. This person decided to say that the post was ridiculous and fear mongering because we live in a red state and everyone owns a gun… 🤦🏼‍♀️. It was actually quite comical.

But it warranted a response. So Ladies, pay attention to behavior.

People will usually show you exactly who they are without you ever having to ask!

Bittersweet and exciting… All at the same time.

I’ve temporarily closed my books.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you already know this business means everything to me, and this definitely isn’t goodbye.

Took a trip to Colorado to train with one of the best… Who also happens to be my amazing friend Hannah Hannah | Competitive Shooter & Life Coach

two solid days of shooting, a little dancing, mild brass-related chaos, and me absolutely losing my s**t because I finally caught a round.
😝. Best time-worth every mile.
