✨"Right Before Start Time: The Moments You Don’t See" by someone who has planned and designed at least 100 Highly Curated Event and Brand EXPERIENCES in the Past 20 Years✨

Two Hours for Your Attendees are actually 2 Months for you. Sifting through thoughts, visions, ideas and wondering if you're going to take the plunge to make them concrete.

Once you do, once you wield the idea forward in the universe- there's no turning back! 🌍💫 Should anyone show up, YOU have got to SHOW UP 1st! 🏆 Countless hours sifting through all the details, options, your budget, what vendors you can use + the 100s of things you're going to do or create yourself.

No detail is too small or overthought- from the food, to the colors, the music, to the ice breakers and thoroughly pondered agenda- they're there to incite a , build a and create a unique .

This is why moments before actual start time, I'm tidying up tables, opening and closing folders making sure it's all there.

If you come to one of my events; if you commission me to create a unique networking event, brand experience, conference or retreat for you... there's one thing I need to know and it actually doesn't have anything to do with your feedback or even my own feelings about the way things went.

Are guests lingering around afterwards? Are they forgetting time and existing in the space where presence overrides a pressured cutoff? Are they smiling throughout? Are walls coming down, is nervousness dissipating, is RACE/AGE/IMAGE/GENDER/RELIGION/BELIEFS/ECONOMICS/POLITICS blurring into the background while GENUINE ENGAGEMENT of who people really are is and where they truly CONNECT is EVIDENT?💡

Are people just complimenting and congratulating YOU OR are they saying they had an amazing time... that they're so happy they came?!? 💡

These are not everyone's metrics. But these are mine🎯, and this is what's running through my mind as the mission I have to accomplish🙏🏾- as I'm filling the bags, making sure the bubbly is cold, food hot, and brand colors poppin'! 😉

No one knew what I was going to do so I want to thank the leader and founder of Marketing for the Culture Summit, 🏆Michelle Ngome 🇨🇲 | Marketing Leader for trusting me to Host, the way she trusted every single Speaker to literally take us to MARKETING CHURCH with their powerful stories, knowledge, strategies and impact!

This Morning On My Way to Host Marketing for The Culture Summit, ! A Tall Task for a PHENOMENAL Organization African-American Marketing Association, and an INCREDIBLE annual summit that's been taking off in Houston! 🚀🔥

A lot of people think when you show up with joy, authenticity, creativity or personality- it's all just natural and effortless for you because it feels natural to them.

I assure you: it takes the ultimate effort and even courage to bring your full self, test out your ideas, mental scripts, jokes, serious empowerment, ways to engage the audience, keep the program running on time, stay flexible, on que and not freak out when things don't go as planned.

It doesn't matter how often I do this- I've been and for over 2 decades now (yes since I was a teenager- shout out to all the speech and debate kids, shout out to all the pageant girls)- I have the same knot in my stomach that Beyonce describes before she goes out on stage.

Will this be the time I get booed? Slip and fall? Forget everything? All of my luck with all the prior engagements and performances runs out? Can I still DELIVER as I have before? Maybe I shouldn't try a, b, or c and just play it a bit more SAFE.

But through deep breaths, you remember your greater in the room. You're not just standing in front of people with a microphone- this is about more than an event, it's about Holding Space and Carrying Energy. 💫
People showed up for a mission, a reason, and you're apart of that. They invested time, resources and someone entrusted you to fulfill a meaningful part of a powerful program. 💯

The task will never be given to you if you weren't more than qualified to fulfill it! You're more than enough and so your job is to not meet expectation: it's to help create a new experience and set a new standard.💡
