Hey Doulas!

We love that you are helping navigate the journey with our patients. We were just chatting on a post about decreased fetal movement. Here are some great was to respond when a client or non client comes to you asking for medical advice. Keep within your scope to protect your client and yourself. 🧡 Glad to have you on our team.

Ways to phrase when a doula client is asking for medical advice or any stranger who is not your patient.

🧡“what did your provider tell you to do?” (For said instance ie decreased fetal movement, bleeding, leaking… respond by reinforcing their providers plan “great, so let them know as you head in to get checked out”)

🧡“Did you let your provider know?”

🧡“I’m glad you called, but this is a great question for your provider and if you feel concerned it’s always better to get checked out”

International Day of the Midwife (IDM) is celebrated annually on May 5th to honor the essential work of midwives. The 2026 theme is “One Million More Midwives,” highlighting the urgent global shortage and demanding investment in midwifery education, fair pay, and safe, enabling environments to ensure quality care for mothers and newborns. 🧡We know midwifery is greater than us, but starts in our care. We honor all of the local national midwives as well as those around the world. Our work is hard but so rewarding for our community. 🧡 Please say thank you to a midwife today and every day.

We are proud to have Adilah on our team! 🧡

We believe in creating a community of support for everyone in our community. 🧡A few things the community learned today: how a virtual doula can help support the mental and emotional journey, how a doula brings in body work to help clients work through pregnancy discomfort, how working together has positive outcomes for their postpartum health. 🧡Doulas please forgive us if we didn’t tag you! Please let us know if we missed you and we will share and tag.
