This ended my week on a full heart.

I live with hearing loss. It shapes how I practice, how I listen, and how I show up for every patient. When a physician takes the time to say something like this to someone before they've even met me, that's the referral relationship I work hard to earn.

I was sent these from a red stag hunt in New Zealand and he’s wearing his custom SoundGear Phantoms for hearing protection. With them, he can have conversation, hear every rustle and footstep in the bush while staying completely protected from rifle blast.
This is why I love what I do- helping people protect their hearing so they can keep doing what they love, wherever in the world that takes them!

One of my patients sent me a cartoon this week, tucked inside a handwritten note, just because she thought I'd enjoy it.
It made me smile the moment I opened it, and it's been sitting on my desk ever since.

There's something about this work that I didn't fully anticipate when I started, and that's the way the relationships quietly become the best part. People remember you between appointments. They think of you when something crosses their path. They take a moment to put pen to paper.

1903 called, and it brought receipts.

A patient walked in today carrying newspapers from 1903 with original ads for Wilson's Common Sense Ear Drums. She'd noticed the vintage ads for hearing aids I have framed in my hallway and wanted me to have these.

Over 120 years of hearing technology... and the care behind it still comes down to one person looking out for another.

I have the best patients.
