Oh, what a night! In the glow of the afternoon sun, 100+ IHWSHers gathered for delicious food, bespoke beverages and two important tasks - to thank our volunteer doctors and providers, AND to raise funds for these vital preventive medical and mental health programs. From the depth of our grateful souls, thank you to Chef Shawn Gawle, Chef Paul Virant, Chef Ryan Pera, the Coltivare family, our volunteers, sponsors, and donors for bringing 60K to the cause of better health in hospitality.

Chef Ryan Pera of Coltivare speaks with knowledgeable pride about IHWSH’s work - but it’s no mystery why: he is married to CEO and co founder Dr Lori Choi. His co-chefs for Just What the Doctor Ordered are also married to physicians 😉
Join Chefs Pera, Gawle and Virant for this special evening honoring the physicians and providers behind IHWSH programs providing free preventive medical and mental healthcare to F&B.

Diane—wife, mom, industry champion, and co‑owner of Burger Chan and Borrowed Goods—shares a deeply personal story that’s still unfolding.

Her first mammogram at IHWSH Mobile Mammogram Day 2025 caught her breast cancer early, and because of this, her outlook today couldn’t be better. We get it when she tells us how easy it is to delay self-care when you’re working 6 days a week, about ‘ick’ moments like breast exams and getting phone calls with results (and she’s skipping all the chapters about how she basically kicked ass in recovering from surgeries). Words fail us when we consider the “what ifs” of alternative plot lines with skipped or delayed appointments – that’s how much Diane contributes to our community. Instead, we get to thank her for taking her own advice to “get over the fear, get over the uncomfortableness” and scheduling her mammogram with IHWSH. We get to celebrate Diane – breast cancer survivor. F**k you, Cancer.

F&B workers have year‑round access to screening mammograms with The Rose. Schedule your appointment via the link in our bio.

That’s a wrap for *Squad Goals*!

Still recovering (in the best way) from this wild and wonderful ride of events—all for I’ll Have What She’s Having. Huge THANK YOU to every sponsor, volunteer, chef, and bartender who showed up, showed out, and made the magic happen. We seriously couldn’t have done it without you.

Extra love to this dream team:
Chef Layne Cruz, Madeline Glasscock, Chef Courtney Beard, Jordyn Saenz, Brooke Lightfoot, Emilie Landeros, Chef Keisha Griggs, Khrystah Gorham, Chef Karina Rangel, Chef Brie Hodges, and Angel Salas—you all absolutely crushed it. 💥

Big shout out to our host venue

And because of this ultimate squad? We raised over $3K for IHWSH programs!! 🙌

Grateful, a little tired, and already ready to do it again.
