It’s been a weird couple months. Finding out we needed to leave Texas and move back “home”, packing up the house I only just bought in December and was supposed to be “forever”, selling almost everything I own, packing everything essential into a suitcase and everything else into a box, to eventually make its way to England on a boat.

Saying goodbye to friends, clients and horses. Having to walk away from personal and professional goals that I had for 2026 and beyond.

Not an easy time, but when things happen beyond your control do you wallow or do you try and make the best of it?

Hoping that there’s some divine reason as yet unknown for why things are working out the way they are…

For sure I am missing my network, my “every day” with horses, but I’m hoping in time to rebuild that here; new friends, new clients, new horses 🦄💕

(some old friends too!!)

Entrepreneurship is always a journey, but starting over (again) at 43 is not for the weak, that is for sure 😅💪🐎

One of the hardest things to learn as a bodyworker when you are at the beginning of your journey, is that your value isn't measured by how much you're doing.

It can be tempting to fill every moment with movement, techniques or the next step in your session plan. But some of the most meaningful moments in a session happen when we pause.

Creating space gives the animal time to process, respond and communicate. It allows you to observe rather than assume, to listen rather than lead. In those quiet moments, you'll often notice subtle shifts that tell you far more than continuous hands-on work ever could.

Bodywork isn't about constantly applying techniques. It's about building a conversation where the animal you’re working with has the opportunity to participate, respond and guide the session alongside you.

Sometimes, the most skilled thing you can do is simply wait.

It takes confidence and experience to learn how to take a step back, this is your reminder that it will come with time.
