The other day I was talking to a close friend about her 10-year-old son.
She was venting, saying how tired she was of repeating herself, how he couldnât sit still for anything, and how the constant bouncing-off-the-walls energy was starting to wear her down.
She kept saying, "But he's just being a boy, right?"
And as a mom, I get it.
We donât want to overthink it. We donât want our babies labeled.
But I gently asked a few questions... about school, sleep, meltdowns, transitions, and the more she shared, the more it clicked.
He wasnât just full of energy.
He was struggling.
Long story short... we got him evaluated.
And when she called me after the appointment, she literally said:
"I feel like I finally see him clearly for the first time. Everything makes sense now."
Itâs not about labeling, itâs about understanding.
And sometimes, that one honest conversation can change everything.
âš Have you ever had a moment where something finally made sense about your child? Letâs talk about it in the comments.
