Sometimes anxiety about what’s next makes us rush through what’s happening right now.

This trip was a reminder to savor the ending before jumping into the next beginning. 💚

Enjoy the dinner. Take the walk. Get the ice cream. Say thank you.

Don’t rush the ending just because you’re thinking about what’s next.

Summer often goes by faster than we expect.

As the season begins to wind down, it can be helpful to pause and reflect, not on everything you didn’t do, but on what truly mattered.

These four questions are a simple way to reconnect with yourself and be intentional about how you’d like to spend the rest of your summer.

Which one resonates with you the most?

I almost missed out on a hike I love because I assumed everyone else’s needs had to come before my own.

My children were too young for the trail, and my parents weren’t able to hike it this year.

At first, I thought the only option was to stay behind.

Then I asked for a compromise.

I hiked for about 45 minutes while my parents spent time with the kids, then I came back so everyone could enjoy the afternoon together.

It was such a simple moment, but such a powerful reminder.

So many of us believe that meeting our own needs means we’re being selfish.

In healthy relationships, asking for what you need doesn’t have to come at someone else’s expense.

Sometimes everyone wins, you just have to be willing to ask.

Have you ever talked yourself out of asking because you assumed the answer would be no?

Are you an overthinker? This is for you. 🤍

When we’re upset, anxious, or hurt, it’s easy to believe every thought that pops into our head.

But thoughts aren’t always facts.

The next time you’re struggling with a difficult emotion, try asking yourself:

• Is it true?
• Can I know for sure it’s true?
• How do I show up when I believe this thought?
• What would be possible if I let this thought go?

These simple questions can help create space between you and the story your mind is telling.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is get curious about our thoughts instead of automatically believing them.

One of the most challenging parts of any major life change is the period between deciding and arriving.

The decision has been made, but your circumstances haven’t caught up yet. You’re preparing for a new job, a move, a relationship change, or another significant transition while still living in your current reality.

It’s common during this stage to become increasingly aware of everything that isn’t working anymore. That doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve made the wrong choice. Often, it’s a sign that you’ve outgrown where you are.

The in-between can feel uncomfortable, but it is also evidence that you’re moving forward.

One of the strongest predictors of successful therapy is the relationship between the client and therapist.

Feeling safe, understood, and comfortable enough to be honest matters. That’s why it’s okay—and important—to ask questions when looking for a therapist. Cultural background, life experiences, communication style, specialties, and personality can all impact whether a therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit.

Finding the right therapist is not about being “too picky.” It’s about finding a space where healing feels possible.
