Research shows that a regular meditation practice doesn’t just help you feel calmer. It can actually change your brain, reduce inflammation, and even influence gene expression.

It’s a small daily habit that can lower stress hormones, ease anxiety, and support healing at the cellular level.

Paleo, Keto, Mediterranean — it can be hard to know which diet is the right one to follow.

When writing our book, , we spoke to Dr. David Katz about the similarities between different healthy diets.

Katz explained, “There’s so much noise in the nutrition diet arena but there just doesn’t have to be. I realized that we create a lot of confusion when what we’re all aiming for is simply this: we need to eat wholesome foods in sensible combinations.”

A plant-centered dietary pattern is what we need to achieve, maintain, and foster health. This simple approach runs contrary to what our culture promotes and what is often the easiest choice.

A person is considered a cancer survivor from the day they’re diagnosed throughout their life. Family, caregivers and friends of patients are survivors, too.

National is the first Sunday in June. UT MD Anderson will host a week of virtual activities to celebrate those who are living with, through and beyond cancer.

Join us on Monday June 8 at 12pm CT as we discuss the .

In March 2018, on the same day Alison and I approved the final draft of Anticancer Living, I learned I had stage 3 melanoma.

I had spent 25 years studying cancer prevention. Now I was a patient.

The diagnosis reinforced what I had long taught others: don't wait for a serious illness to start taking care of yourself. Cancer taught me to slow down. To manage stress. To spend more time with the people I love.

The Mix of Six was no longer just my research — it became my path forward.

GLP-1 medications are everywhere right now, and the questions around them are only growing. A 2025 JAMA Oncology study of 86,000 adults found they were associated with a reduced overall cancer risk — likely because excess body weight is responsible for 7.6% of all cancer cases in the U.S.

The research is promising, but still evolving. Medication on its own is only part of the picture. Lifestyle change — diet, sleep, stress, movement, social connection, and environment — combined with medications as necessary is what the evidence consistently shows reduces cancer risk most.

Magnesium is one of the most overlooked minerals in the body. It’s involved in more than 300 processes that support sleep, stress response, muscle function, and inflammation.

Many people aren’t getting enough. Diets today often fall short of the whole, nutrient-dense foods that naturally provide magnesium.

Supplements can help, but food is the foundation. Leafy greens, pumpkin seeds, almonds, black beans, and dark chocolate are some of the richest sources.

New research published in Cancer Medicine explores the role of biofield therapy in pancreatic cancer progression. In preclinical models, the study found slower tumor growth, reduced spread, and fewer liver metastases.

Co-led by Dr. Lorenzo Cohen and Dr. Peiying Yang, this work reflects years of collaboration and careful investigation into how non-invasive approaches may interact with biological systems.

Thank you to Dr. Peiying Yang and her team for overseeing this landmark study!
