YES. šŸ‘ Being exhausted is not a personality trait—or a badge of honor.
Somewhere along the way, ā€œI’m so busyā€ and ā€œI barely sleptā€ became proof that we’re doing enough. Midlife has a funny way of making that s**t stop working. šŸ˜‚
Rest isn’t something you have to earn. And running yourself into the ground isn’t the flex we were taught it was.

Perimenopause is the doorway. Midlife is the landscape.

Hair loss in midlife hits differently. 😩 It’s not just hair—it can feel like one more part of yourself that perimenopause decided to mess with without asking.
And when you notice it? Suddenly you’re counting hairs in the shower, analyzing your part, Googling supplements…and maybe obsessing just a tiny bit. šŸ˜‚
We’re talking about why hair changes can feel so damn personal—and giving ourselves permission to care about it. ā¤ļø

GLP-1s may be everywhere right now, but there’s an important midlife conversation that can get lost in all the weight-loss talk: muscle.
As we age, maintaining muscle becomes increasingly important—and losing weight without protecting muscle mass can have consequences we don’t always hear enough about.
We’re talking GLP-1s, midlife, muscle loss, and why strength matters beyond the number on the scale. šŸ’Ŗ

By 5pm, the makeup we so carefully applied that morning is sliding off our faces…right along with our hopes and dreams of staying regulated. šŸ˜‚
Foundation disappearing, mascara migrating, patience dwindling. By the end of the day, we’re giving a little less fresh-faced midlife woman and a little more Joker. šŸƒšŸ’„
Midlife is beautiful. āœØšŸ˜‚

šŸŽ§ New episode of Midlife Double Take: Sleep in Midlife

This week on Midlife Double Take, we’re talking about sleep in midlife: why it matters so much, the different kinds of sleepers among us, and what happens when your sleep needs don’t exactly match the person sleeping next to you.

We get into early birds and night owls (and those of us who are…neither? šŸ™‹šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø), sleep hygiene, and the very underrated option of sleeping in separate bedrooms from your partner because you both actually want to SLEEP.

And maybe we can stop treating that last one like it automatically means something is wrong with your relationship? Sometimes separate beds aren’t a relationship problem. Sometimes they’re just two well-rested people. šŸ˜‚

We’re talking about finding what actually works for you — because good sleep matters, especially in midlife. šŸ’›

Midlife body changes can make it really easy to focus on what looks different — or what doesn’t feel like ā€œusā€ anymore.

I’m trying to shift the question from How does my body look? to What has this body done for me?

It’s carried babies. It’s carried me through trauma, change, hard seasons, and 44 years of life.

Maybe body acceptance doesn’t have to mean loving every change. Maybe sometimes it starts with a little more appreciation for the body that got us here. ā¤ļø

Wait… when did THIS become my body? 😳

If you’ve looked in the mirror lately and thought, I swear I didn’t used to have that there, this episode is for you. šŸ˜‚

This week on Midlife Double Take, we’re talking about body image in midlife—because apparently changing hormones weren’t enough, we also needed our bodies to start shape-shifting. šŸ™ƒ

We talk about weight and body changes, aging, beauty standards, the pressure to stay young and ā€œdesirable,ā€ and what it’s like to live in a body that can suddenly feel unfamiliar.

This isn’t a conversation about fixing our bodies or pretending we love every change. It’s about questioning some of the messages we’ve absorbed about what our bodies are supposed to look like—and figuring out what a more compassionate relationship with ourselves might look like in midlife.

šŸŽ§ New episode is up! Come hang out with us.

Perimenopause is called a ā€œlife transition.ā€ But what happens when that transition lasts for years and comes with chronic pain and symptoms that significantly affect your quality of life?

At what point does the distinction between symptomatic life transition and chronic illness start to feel a little… blurry?

We don’t settle the question here—but we definitely have thoughts. šŸ˜ And, as usual, we need more research.
