Pain is one of the most common experiences people with arthritis share, but there’s no single treatment that works for everyone.

As someone living with both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, pain has been one of the few constants throughout my journey. I’ve had surgeries, tried different therapies, and learned that managing pain often requires a combination of approaches rather than a single solution.

In Episode 155 of the Live Yes! With Arthritis podcast, I sit down with Dr. Yawar Qadri, a pain specialist with Emory Healthcare, to discuss the many options available for arthritis pain management. We explore medications, injections, nerve-based treatments, physical therapy, complementary therapies, CBD, supplements, and some of the newer treatments being developed for the future. We also talk about the often-overlooked connection between pain, sleep, stress, mood, and overall quality of life.

One of my biggest takeaways from this conversation is that pain management is highly individual. What works for one person may not work for another, and finding the right combination of treatments takes patience, partnership with your healthcare team, and a willingness to explore different options.

Join Dr. Jolene Brighten, Cynthia Adinig, Jamie Nicole, and Tracey Welson-Rossman for The Invisible Trigger: Why Menopause Resets the Rules for Autoimmune Health on June 10, 2026 at 1 PM EST.

Dr. Brighten has been helping women understand what often gets missed in conventional care: menopause is not “just hormones,” and autoimmune symptoms are not always separate from the hormonal shifts happening in midlife. In her work on menopause and autoimmune disease, she explains how perimenopause and menopause can intensify inflammation, change symptom patterns, worsen fatigue and brain fog, and make previously stable autoimmune conditions harder to manage.

This free live conversation brings that expertise into a real discussion with women who are living, researching, advocating, building, and translating what too many patients are experiencing alone.

Millions of women living with autoimmune conditions, Long COVID, ME/CFS, dysautonomia, MCAS, and chronic illness have watched their symptoms change during perimenopause and menopause. Flares become more intense. Medications may not work the same. New sensitivities appear. Brain fog worsens. Joint pain, fatigue, sleep disruption, mood changes, and inflammation can all become harder to separate.

Too often, women are told it’s “just stress,” “just aging,” or “just menopause.”

We know it’s more complicated than that.

This is not a cold institutional webinar. It is a practical, honest conversation about the autoimmune-menopause connection, what women should be tracking, what questions to bring into clinical visits, and why these changes deserve to be taken seriously.

Attendees will receive a downloadable Doctor’s Checklist, practical symptom recognition tools, guidance for care conversations, and a real discussion about the patterns too many women are navigating without enough support.

A lot of people dismiss AIP before they ever fully understand what it actually is.

Too restrictive.
Too overwhelming.
Impossible to sustain long term.

The New Autoimmune Protocol by Mickey Trescott officially releases today, and it reflects how much the approach to AIP has evolved over the years.

More flexibility. More practicality. More real-world application.

If AIP has ever felt intimidating or incompatible with your lifestyle, culture, or budget, I’d encourage you to take a closer look at this updated approach.

Osteoarthritis is often dismissed as just “getting older,” but for many people, it impacts mobility, pain levels, daily activities, and overall quality of life.

As someone living with both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, I know firsthand how complex and frustrating arthritis pain can be, especially when it affects multiple joints and different parts of daily life.

On Episode 153 of the Live Yes! With Arthritis podcast, I’m joined by orthopedic surgeon Dr. C. Benjamin Ma and physical therapist and researcher Dr. Elizabeth Wellsandt for a conversation about osteoarthritis, what’s happening in the joints, treatment options, movement, pain management, and the role physical activity can play in long-term joint health.

Dr. Ma brings both the surgical and sports medicine perspective, helping break down how osteoarthritis develops, when surgery may or may not be appropriate, and why staying active matters. Dr. Wellsandt shares insight on physical therapy, strength, mobility, and ways people can support joint function at different stages of OA.
