THE GAP

How many sermons have you agreed with that never changed a single Tuesday?

Most of us have heard far more truth than we're living. Not because we don't love God, but because hearing has never been the same as becoming.

"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says" (James 1:22, NIV).

Coming Home is the bridge. Every single day ends with one practice and a written if–then plan, so the truth you read at 6 a.m. shows up in how you live at 6 p.m.

THE SCARIEST THING.......

It's not suffering. It's not loss. It's not even the dark night.

It's the scariest thing to be satisfied in life without God.

Comfortable. Busy. Blessed. And not even noticing He's no longer the center.

Israel did it. They were seduced by the blessings and forgot the Source. And if we're honest, so have we.

If your fire has dimmed, this isn't condemnation. It's an invitation. Come home.

I was at a friend's wedding recently. Weddings are so beautiful. Weddings are so powerful. They are prophetic pictures. They open a window into the very heart of God.

You watch two worlds collide with intense devotion. Two hearts putting away and dying to every other lover, every other attachment, and giving themselves completely, wholeheartedly, to the one their soul loves.

And then I watched him dance with his bride for the first time. He was locked in on her. The intensity of his passion. His love. His commitment. His singleness of gaze.

Friends, that is a prophetic plumb line. That is an invitation into exactly what God wants for you and me with Him.

God is calling His church home.

Home to first love. Home to covenant. Home to one another. Home to joy. Home to Jesus, the Father, the Spirit.

When Israel ran after other lovers, God didn't send a divorce decree. He sent a courtship. "I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her" (Hosea 2:14, NIV).

He is still speaking tenderly. He is knocking on the door of the church and the heart of every person. And I believe He's knocking on yours.
