This Leadership Friday, we’re highlighting the leaders of our histories tent: Joseph Burchett, Samuel Harris, and Adam Madore!

Our histories leaders make sure that every patient’s history is heard, understood, and well-documented. When asked about what MMO means to them, this is what they said:

“MMO was one of the things that drew me to Marshall in the first place. As medical students we are so busy and much of what we do is all about getting ourselves ready for residency. MMO is a monthly reminder that medicine is not about us but about serving those in need. I love the opportunity to serve Huntington and make a difference in a vital aspect of people’s lives.” - Samuel

“For me, volunteering at MMO is a reminder that medicine is not only about treating illness, but also about meeting people where they are and ensuring that everyone receives compassionate care. It is especially rewarding to see patients return each month and to witness their gratitude firsthand. MMO also gives me a meaningful opportunity to give back to the community that welcomed me so warmly when I moved here as an M1.” - Adam

“As a lifelong member of this community, MMO is an opportunity to use the skills I’ve learned from my medical education as a way to give back.” - Joe

We’re proud to have Mr. Burchett, Madore, and Harris helping lead our outreach event every month. Come join our leaders and the rest of the team tomorrow as we provide free healthcare services to the Huntington community.

This Leadership Friday, we want to recognize our Oral Health leaders, Kassandra Looschen-Pribanich and Isabella Griffiths!

Kassie and Bella are both 3rd-year medical students who have been a part of MMO since starting medical school in 2024. Since taking over the oral health station, they have worked exceptionally hard to improve the dental care and oral health education the people of Huntington receive at our clinic. When asked about how MMO has impacted them, this is what they had to say:

“We are and have been passionate about MMO since we began medical school, from connecting patients with community resources to providing oral care supplies. Oral health is a particular challenge for our patients, and while we will practice medicine one day, we think it’s important to fill that oral health gap since our area doesn’t have dental students who can collaborate with us. It’s so rewarding to get the conversations started and connect our patients with local dentists. We’ve even learned more about oral health ourselves along the way! We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of MMO and look forward to continuing our efforts for the rest of our medical school journey.” - Isabella and Kassandra

Join Bella & Kassie tomorrow with the rest of the MMO team for another summer clinic in Huntington. We look forward to seeing you there! 💚

This Leadership Friday, we’re spotlighting the leaders of our intake station: Kayla Coffman, Trace Clark, and Braden Ross!

Our intake leaders are the first faces you’ll see when coming to our weekend clinics. Whether you need glasses, blood glucose checks, or primary care services, our students will take you where you need to go! Here’s what our leaders have to say about MMO:

“Marshall Medical Outreach is one of my favorite experiences in medical school. I enjoy working with fellow medical students and interacting with members of the community. MMO offers incredible services and opportunities for care to people in need. I have made wonderful relationships with patients and seen the impact that MMO has on their lives. I am grateful for my role as an intake station leader and love seeing patients return to MMO each month. I get the opportunity to know patients and help them seek the services they need. MMO has a special place in my heart!” - Kayla

“I always enjoy volunteering at MMO because it gives me the opportunity to work one-on-one with patients and make a meaningful impact in our community. It’s especially rewarding to help provide care for underserved populations and connect with people from all walks of life. The best part is our patients—their kindness, appreciation, and support make every clinic experience worthwhile and remind me why I chose to pursue medicine.” - Trace

“MMO is one of the most rewarding ways I have found to connect to my community. I have met hundreds of people who have come to us for help and made lasting friendships with fellow students in our shared goal of delivering care. I can say definitively that my experiences at MMO have, and will continue to, shape me into a better person and future physician.“ - Braden

Come join our intake team and the rest of our crew this Saturday for another weekend of free medical services!
