How often do we cling tightly to things that have long since withered? 🍂

In the rush of daily life, it’s easy to accumulate—not just physical clutter, but mental loops, old emotional wounds, and physical tension that no longer serve a purpose. We hold on out of habit, fear, or comfort.

This beautiful reminder from Rumi touches on the heart of what we explore in Yoga Therapy. Nature doesn't struggle to let go of dead leaves; it’s a necessary part of the growth cycle. The tree trusts that releasing the old makes space for new energy (prana) and fresh growth in the spring.

In a Yoga Therapy session, we don't just talk about "letting go" intellectually. We use breathwork, gentle movement, and mindful inquiry to find where those "dead leaves" are stored in the body and nervous system. We learn to safely acknowledge them, and then, with compassion, allow them to drop.

Release isn't always easy, but it is essential for healing.
