You have one month to purchase, reuse or borrow an inflatable. Inflatables - Year 1 - 55 Year 2 - 85 Year 3 - ?

We have also been invited to participate for the 2nd year in a row at the 1 Mile Fun run during Rocket City Marathon weekend. Last year was a blast even on short notice and we know with more of you joining us this year that it will be even better.

Huntsville Pub Run Factoid
Just saw where The Curry in Five Points will be closing in a week. Although the Pub Run never ran from The Curry, we did one run from Mario's Five Points on 4/21/21 which was Pub Run #215.

The location was one of 63 locations that the Pub Run has run from.

Do you have a favorite location? Or a location that you think would be fun to run from?

194 runners made a decision. They decided that rather than sit on the couch in the AC, they would show up to see their friends (or make some) and run. It doesn't matter if you ran 5, 3 or something less. It doesn't matter of you ran or walked. You SHOWED UP and should be proud of making that decision. Although August/September typically stay warm, we normally see a slight dip in temps and since everyone that has been showing up is heat acclimated, my guess is you will notice even minor drops.

After reviewing all of the Strava routes from the run, I give everyone KUDOS👍👍 for nailing the routes, and especially the LEFT on Vanderbilt. I only saw one person that went straight and they shall remain nameless. But the route did say you could go LEFT or STRAIGHT so nobody was wrong. Considering the conditions there were some really strong performances by many. And that doesn't mean just fast, because many of you are improving on YOUR best times of 2026!

Thanks to Whole Foods Market team for hosting and providing some quality hydration options. I love having alcohol and non-alcohol options. And Tommy Morris especially loves the carbonated water selection. Mad props to those that cooled off with some ice cream or gelato. And MVP to the Whole Foods team for having a bottle opener available for us!

Next week we return to Campus No. 805 and a few minor hills. As they say "hills make you stronger." "They" may be right, but sometimes I'd just like to smack them in the head.

Thanks to everyone for making this group thrive. 1,000+ now on Strava group.

Normally we try to keep this page for Huntsville Pub Run events only so that everyone can easily find the information.

But there is a race that is near and dear to me that Gerri Huskins Plain is the Race Director. Please consider Joining us on Labor Day Monday, September 7, 2026, at Joe Davis Stadium for a 5k and/or 10k to benefit the Madison County Volunteer Lawyers Program. There is also a 1-ish mile fun run for the kiddos.

Not in town? Want to sleep in? We have just the thing for you! We have a Sleep in for Justice option that gets you a cool shirt and still benefits the Volunteer Lawyers Program. Help us provide civil legal services to low-income individuals in Madison County and register today.

I'll be volunteering all morning but gladly signed up for the Sleep in for Justice option so that I can support Gerri and this wonderful cause. I hope that many of our Pub Runners will join us.

Great to be back at MELT - Huntsville for the Pub Run last night. 238 braved the Heat and Humidity. The management and staff always take great care of us and certainly got a workout filling and refilling the provided water station.

The group is always in a state of transition as we gladly welcome new runners each week and sadly say goodbye to some.

This week we wish Amber and Andrew Mann all the best as they head with their pups to New Mexico and an exciting new career. Glad you were able to share your time with us and we will look forward to seeing you when you visit.

Thanks to Kevin L Chambers for providing the delicious Strawberry Cake and sharing it with the group.

We also have to say goodbye to Meg Buckner, who is heading to Atlanta (Georgia Tech) for her Master's degree. I'll miss her smile and the joy that she always brought to the group.

On a positive note, Anthony Ellis recently put on a shirt and married Grace Burnard. I'm sure the wedding photos will be beautiful. Mr. & Mrs. Ellis returned from their wedding and honeymoon in Punta Cana and joined us last night. Please congratulate them when you see them at a Pub Run.

Next week we head to Whole Foods Market. Start hydrating and figure out who you can invite to be part of our group.

I don't have any cool pics to share but I know many of your were thankful for the cloud cover and outflow winds that brought some relief to the Huntsville Pub Run - Stovehouse last night.

I'm frequently asked if the number of runners goes down during the summer. Surprisingly our numbers peak during the summer, in spite of the heat. I thought the group looked small last night and guessed about 180, when in reality the count was above 235 again.

Coming back from vacation, I was excited to see everyone. So excited that I accidentally deleted a LEFT TURN on College Park on the 5 mile paper route. Looking at all the Strava routes it appeared that everyone handled it like pros, even if you ended up with a little extra distance. I do my best to provide accurate info, but have learned that after 477 Pub Runs x 2 (3 & 5 Mile) I'm human and make mistakes. Just don't tell Gerri.

Why do I look forward to every Wednesday? It's seeing my friends and interacting with new ones. Last night I got to:

*Chat about Connecticut, Boston and Martha's Vineyard. Aquatic Brewing, Amity Island Running Club. Fiddlehead and Treehouse.
*Met a mom and her daughter (attending UAH this fall) running their 1st Pub Run.
*Congratulate our newest Pub Run engaged couple. Any guesses?

And sadly see Angello Karadzhinov at his last Pub Run before heading home to England to celebrate his sisters graduation and then returning to start his PHD program in Tuscaloosa.

The Huntsville Pub Run is more than a run. It is a community of amazing people that come together to enjoy life.

See you next week at The Nook!
