This isn't a post about healthcare.
It's a post about people.
Last week, the Modern Day Health Care team stepped away from our clinics to spend time together at a beautiful Minnesota lake. What we found there was so much more than a retreat.
We found perspective.
In the stillness of the water, the laughter around the table, the conversations around the fire pit, and the simple joy of being together, we were reminded of something we don't always make time to see:
The strength of our team isn't found only in what we know.
It's found in who we are.
We serve communities across rural South Dakota, often miles apart, caring for patients in clinics, homes, workplaces, and communities. While distance may separate us geographically, our purpose keeps us connected.
This retreat reminded us that we are accountable not only to the patients who trust us with their care, but also to one another.
Scripture tells us that "iron sharpens iron," and we felt that deeply over the weekend. Not through meetings or metrics, but through shared meals, late-night conversations, boat rides, burgers, addictive dips, countless laughs, and moments of genuine connection.
We were reminded that our greatest strength isn't simply our clinical knowledge, experience, or professional skill.
It's our bond.
It's our faith.
It's our willingness to lift one another up, challenge one another to grow, and show up for each other when it matters most.
God has blessed us with meaningful work, incredible communities to serve, and a team that genuinely cares—not just about healthcare, but about people.
And that's what makes Modern Day Health Care special.
We're not perfect.
We're real.
We're a collection of different backgrounds, personalities, talents, and stories brought together by a shared calling to serve others.
As you scroll through these photos, know that behind every appointment, every home visit, every phone call, and every patient interaction is a team that believes deeply in caring for people—and caring for each other.
For the memories, the laughter, the friendships, and the opportunity to do this work together, we are grateful.
Here's to serving with purpose, leading with compassion, and never taking for granted the blessing of each other and our communities.
