Cape Cod Healthcare Blood Center

Cape Cod Healthcare Blood Center When you donate blood or platelets, you give someone the gift of life. This page seeks to raise awareness for blood donation efforts across Cape Cod.

It’s one of the easiest ways to make a big difference and help others. And if you donate blood or platelets to Cape Cod Healthcare, your donation stays on the Cape to benefit your friends and neighbors rather than being transferred outside our community. Why Donate Blood? Blood is a need that never goes away. Our hospitals perform more than 9,000 transfusions per year for such things as elective a

nd emergency surgery, anemia, bleeding disorders and massive blood loss due to trauma. It’s important to know that:

-About one in seven people entering a hospital needs blood
-Red blood cells have a limited shelf life—just 42 days—so they must be constantly replenished
-One pint of blood can save up to two lives
-There is no substitute for human blood

We hope to see you this month at one of our upcoming blood drives.

Cape Cod Healthcare teams proudly participated in Hyannis Open Streets this past weekend, helping to support community connection and a fun time for all!

CCHC is a proud sponsor of the 9th annual Hyannis Open Streets pedestrian-only event on Main Street, which encourages social, environmental, economic and public health ideals while highlighting everything historic downtown Hyannis has to offer for residents and visitors.

As part of our ongoing commitment to health equity, our team connected with attendees to share essential educational resources, including information on breast cancer awareness and support services, as well as a survey focused on improving blood pressure health among Black patients.
