Some people are in search or the Love that binds us all together in harmony and peace. It starts within. The Word, the Logos, the force that breathes life into your body, and sheds this body when it's time to move on, is the real you. You are a spiritual being on an earthly journey.
It's time to act like it.
What is Spirituality? Vs Religion? What does it mean to allow others to Love and Worship God....in their own way and not believe that you are superior because you were taught to worship another way.
The Spirit of God resides in all things. Our Body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit......

At the heart of all religions is the truth. At the HEART of all religions.....the truth is LOVE. UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

The point of it all is to have that experience.....to recognize the Holy Spirit and be in alignment with it. If you are being called to Radiate Peace, Bliss and Beauty, to counteract the balance of the negative energy, this is a time of EGO CRUSHING AGONY.

The Dragonfly represents, among other things, "Dispelling Illusions". This is one of my personal totems. I have incorporated the image of the dragonfly into logo's when doing healing work with Dragonfly Productions, and with Tranquility Indigenous Healing Arts Center.

Dragonfly was speaking loudly today. Transformation can sometimes be very painful and uncomfortable. This is a time to examine the illusions we have been living under, personally and from a universal perspective.
Right now some of us are struggling with fear. Fear of financial disaster, fear of death, fear of change.
Some of us are being challenged to take off the masks that we have been hiding behind and deal with the reality of our situations.
For instance...are you having to call your bank to make arrangements for your mortgage? Yes?
You don't OWN your home.
Did you have to call your car company? Yes?
You don't OWN your car.
Did you have to call credit card companies? Yes?
Do you have enough money in your bank account to pay them off? No?
If you sit and add up all the money that you have committed to pay for the things that you are using, or the roof over you head, how much is it?
Do you have that amount in cash right now and can you pay off these things?
If you cannot, you may have been living under the illusion that you are not POOR.
Just because you have made payment arrangements based on a combination of good faith, a system of credit, and a belief in your capability of paying for those things through your employment, doesn't mean you are not poor.
Sometimes we forget the realities of our situation until something wakes us up. Sometimes it's fear that does that.
What are we afraid of?
Now is the time to lean into that fear, not run away from it.
Maybe we have been among those that like to demonize so-called Poor people, because our Ego's want us to believe we are 'better' than them.
Or maybe we have fallen into the belief system that poor people are immoral and deserve to be mistreated, not worthy of proper health care, not worthy of good living conditions, not worthy of good food.
And maybe we believe the worst thing possible, that we are not Worthy, based on a lack of paper or coin currency, or credit.
The eyes of the Dragonfly have many lenses, where as human eyes have one. They see colors that we can't see, they see movement that we can't see, they see into other worlds.
They go through a metamorphosis when they become adults. They shed their old skin, take wings and fly.
The process is painful and sometimes very dangerous because they become vulnerable to predators and the forces of nature.
Those that survive live another, more fulfilling life.
For some of us, the time is now to mature into Spiritual Beings. To dispel the illusions of separateness. To stop blaming others because of their differences. To look through the eyes of the beings that we share this planet with, the humans and animals, and figure out how to see and share our hearts with each other.

In case you haven't figured it out...You were born to die. Maybe it's time to figure out how you plan to live while you're waiting. I, for one choose not to do so in a state of fear. So many people are scared about what they "might" contract that is deadly, instead of focusing on what they already have, that is killing them...slowly. If you have a medicine cabinet full of pills, you are already courting death. Maybe it's time to spend time developing the discipline and habits it takes to become healthy. Maybe it starts with believing that the body has the ability to heal from things that are supposedly incurable. There are ways to reverse high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and all of the complications that come with. For every dis-ease, there is a cure. The further you get away from nature, the more you put artificial things into your body, the more you increase your chances of contracting and not being able to fend off the viruses that are being put into the environment. There is no money in health care. The money is in Sick Care.
Start seeking solutions to your personal health, not from those who have a vested interest in keeping you ill. Women, stop letting the hospitals have your placentas, only to sell them for hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep others healthy. We have become like any other domesticated animal....not thinking for ourselves....denatured.....not understanding anything about these human bodies that we reside in. We are spiritual beings residing in human bodies. We have the power of discernment, something that we should develop and use. This is what separates us from lower life forms, but unless we develop ourselves and work from a higher state of consciousness we are serving no purpose here, and wasting the gift of human birth. This is a great opportunity to work on ourselves spiritually and get free from all of this negative, fear mongering, greed, imaginary scarcity, psychological manipulation, and live in a state of abundance, light and love.

Religious Bigotry is something that continues to cause strife amongst many colonized people in the Americas. By accepting the taught beliefs of the colonizers, (that ones ancestors had no previous knowledge, or connection with the Divine, that was relevant), until they were colonized or "Saved" by White Men and "their" God, is to diminish your ancestors self worth. This allows for acceptance of abuse as, you have just accepted they are not human beings, but rather animals incapable of union with the Higher Power.

And when the colonized take on the ways of the colonizer and start practicing religious bigotry as well towards individuals that don't believe in "their God" or way of worshipping the poison seeps to a whole new level.

It's a vicious cycle that some are caught up in and can't seem to get past. It keeps being demonstrated over and over again and played out around the world as Indigenous People are attempting to survive while the lands they live on and protect, are under attack.

The Indigenous Ancestors that live within an individual, are under attack as well, when a colonized mind practices religious bigotry.

Happy Mother's Day!
Last year when I was home visiting my mother I spent some time pondering about her life. She has lived in the house that I was most likely conceived in, bought home from the hospital to, and raised in, until I married and moved away. She has been a faithful member of her church that is a block away, a member before I was born. She has served her community in countless ways. She always prepared good wholesome food for us, kept clothes on our backs, (fashionable at that) and a roof over our head. Inside that roof we were taught respect, and discipline. We were expected to cooperate and show our appreciation and gratitude by doing our chores and maintaining a clean environment. The foundation of our lives were built from our Mother's Love. And the foundation of her life is and will always be God's Love.
As I moved around in the yard I spotted an offspring of the Rose of Sharon tree that has always been a part of her garden and an integral part of my childhood life.
My mother comes from the south. My mother comes from women who have worked hard. She started working at 9 years old, baking pies for white folks, in Alabama, and going on to graduate from University of Alabama as a teacher.
My mother comes from women who have held it down, despite, and because of various hard circumstances in life.
And those women expected the best and no less from their offspring.
And the ROSE OF SHARON helped to insure that.
It yielded many a Switch. And those switches were kept on the side of the stove.
"Go break me a switch" is a phase that is all so familiar in my culture.
My godmother who lived next door was also from Alabama, and she picked her share of switches from that tree too, and used them wisely.
As Mothers, our job is not only to bring forth human beings into this realm of existence, but to raise them to be the best HUMAN BEINGS possible. Love is a force. It has many sides. It's not always sugary hugs and kisses.
Sometimes it requires being tough and demanding. And sometimes it requires a SWITCH!
I walked and rode though my neighborhood when I was there. As I went though Hollis, Cambria Heights, Springfield Gardens, St. Albans, I noticed a lot of Rose Of Sharon trees and bushes. I did not see any trees or bushes as old as the one in Mom's yard. I believe that all of the ones around the neighborhood were born from that one tree. Mom has been a beacon of light on that corner for over 60 years and has contributed more than words can say to the community and friends and family.
Her yard has always been full of beautiful flowers and you could see her in her yard, gardening, sometimes from morning till evening.
Her health no longer allows her to garden. But the seeds of her labor will go on for generations, in us, the flowers that she loved and tended with the most care, and also in the Rose of Sharons that are beautifying the many yards in Queens NY.
Happy Mother's Day to all that are the givers of Life and the keepers of Light! Happy Mother's Day to my Mother!
Happy Mother's Day to all that have Mothered Me and Mine! Happy Mother's Day to my Daughter and yours who are Mothers! Happy Mother's Day to all the new Mom's! Enjoy the journey and don't be afraid to use the Switch as needed!
