In January, I told my body we were not dying.
I decided my Life would look different -- that I would focus on creating Peace, instead of living through Stress.
I created a method to actively reduce cortisol in my body and reverse its edfects.
I lost almost 50 pounds, 6 inches around my waist. I gained my Self.
I let my body have its say, learn to feel safe -- and then I invested in a Gym Membership.
20 years after my last Gym Session I went in -- and my body remembered what to do. I cried -- because I thought I would never be able to do that again.
I made a goal, and began training for it. September 11 of this year, I'll be in the gym, in Combat Boots with a loaded Ruck -- climbing 110 flights of stairs on the StairMaster.
My boots arrived today. I smelled them before I saw them; I missed these. Again -- I thought I would never experience wearing them again. But here we are: healing things that were broken. 22 years ago -- February 21, 2004 -- I thought I'd never wear Combat Boots again. Now my body -- this body -- is training in them.
My ruck sack is on the way. When it arrives -- I'll post photos. I'm so excited.
Grief is not linear. Neither is healing. Today, healing looks like an old friend disguised as new boots.
