They taught you how to hit. How to pass. How to read the court.
What most coaches don't have time to tell you is why your body keeps breaking down and what actually prevents it.
Here's what every volleyball player deserves to know:
1️⃣ Your ankles and knees are taking a beating every single practice. Repetitive jumping without proper strength training is one of the fastest paths to injury. It's not bad luck. It's under-preparation.
2️⃣ Landing mechanics are a skill and most players have never been taught them. If your knees cave when you land, that's a ticking clock. Fix the pattern before it becomes a problem.
3️⃣ Shoulder health doesn't just happen. Overhead athletes need intentional rotator cuff and scapular work. Serving and hitting hundreds of balls a week without it is how careers get cut short.
4️⃣ Strength training in-season is not optional. It's what keeps you from breaking down in month three of a long season when everyone else is getting hurt and you're not.
5️⃣ If you're always sore, always tired, or always nursing something, that's not "part of the sport." That's a program failing you.
You deserve more than just being coached for performance. You deserve to be built to last.
