Call Abbott tell him to please Veto this ridiculous bill!!

From FOX 4 News: Midlothian Republican Rep. Brian Harrison has called for Abbott to veto the bill.

"While I appreciate the intent behind SB3, it is an overly broad approach to achieving its goal of protecting children from harmful products; a goal I support," Harrison said. "I believe SB3 unnecessarily grows government, restricts the freedom of adults, and may have serious and harmful unintended consequences such as shuttering thousands of small businesses and pushing adults, who want or rely on h**p products, to more addictive and deadly pharmaceuticals or to the black market. SB3 exceeds the proper role of government and may ban many products that President Trump legalized in 2018. I voted no. For liberty."

Both the Texas House and Senate have approved Senate Bill 3, sending the h**p prohibition bill to Governor Abbott for his approval...or VETO.
He has 20 days after the legislative session ends to sign or veto the bill. If he takes no action, the bill automatically becomes law.

If allowed to become law, SB 3 would re-criminalize hundreds of thousands of Texans who currently enjoy federally legal h**p products responsibly. We would have preferred a system of regulation, but we can not stand by while Texas plunges into a painfully familiar era of prohibition.
This bill will cause far more harm than good!

Please join us in calling on to VETO SB 3!

Sad day for Texans!!!
They are trying to run us out of business!!! 😡😡😡

Sadly, the Texas House of Representatives has passed SB 3 with it's original language, banning all h**p-derived THC.

Sending h**p THC products to the illicit market is a mistake that will cause far more harm than good. Texas has just taken a leap backward, into a painfully familiar era of prohibition.

Tomorrow the House will vote one final time to pass this bill on "third reading." Upon final passage, SB 3 will return to the Senate, where they are likely to concur and send the bill to Governor Abbott. Gov. Abbott can sign the bill into law, let it become law without his signature, or he can VETO the bill.

If/when the bill goes into law, penalties for possession and sales will be enforced starting Sept. 1, 2025.
