Could be mental.
Could be physical.
Could be both.

You’re one foot into discomfort which means you’re one foot into experiencing a new part of your life and capabilities, lessons too.

Go chase those edges.
Go choose which way you grow.

SPEND MORE TIME OUTDOORS 🤍

It doesn’t always have to be fancy or epic.
It doesn’t always have to be Instagram-worthy.
It doesn’t always have to be far away from home.
It doesn’t always have to be a grueling pursuit.

I think we have this “requirement” in our minds as to what qualifies us as an “outdoorsy” person and we discount things like…

•runs or bike rides at a local city park
•playing a pick up game of soccer
•camping in your backyard under fairy lights
•reading a book and eating a PB&J by a pond
•long-boarding around your neighborhood
•playing disc golf at your local field
•spending time out in your veggie garden
•going on an walk a checking out cool plants

These are all OUTDOOR activities.

And we think our outdoor activity “doesn’t count” because we didn’t “run fast”, summit a massive mountain, or do something super hard.

Don’t get me wrong — I love a long and challenging endurance pursuit at altitude or riding smooth berms on a big mountain biking day, but that’s not always accessible to me and for each person — accessibility is going to look different.

THAT is why WE define what “outdoorsy” means to US.

PS - Outdoorsy doesn’t have a “look”, shape, or size either.

You are outdoorsy because of how you love to play outside.
Not because of how you do or don’t look. Okay? 🤍

There is nothing better than knowing you have a tasty sandwich or delicious lunch waiting for you in your day pack when you reach the summit or find a nice rock to sit on for a break.

Am I right?

Lunches on the trail don’t have to be boring! I know I would eat any of these no-cook meal ideas at home, on a regular ole’ day.

—The best part about them?

They take zero actual cooking AND you can make these ahead of time, throw them in the cooler while you are driving to the trailhead, and they will be ready to eat once you reach your summit or find that nice hang-out spot.

*bonus points if you pack a side of kettle cooked chips* 😏

Before I left the campground and all the ladies from the trip this morning, I was cleaning my sunglass lenses.

They were sprinkled with whitewater spray residue from the day’s prior epic rafting adventure.

This simple post-trip act of cleaning the glacier-fed river off of my sunglasses left me sad/happy/overwhelmed/wanting more time.

But in a good good good way.

Despite the series of events leading up to me getting there at 7AM on Saturday, this weekend was incredible and I still cannot believe I have the opportunity to do/experience things like this.

It was a jam-packed 48 hours spent adventuring through the Grand Tetons and learning its history, hiking around Jenny Lake & Taggart Lake, meeting a moose from afar on the trail, sipping coffee in the morning chill, exploring the quaint and lively town of Jackson, sitting around campfires eating s’mores, sharing meals on long picnic tables, laughing and storytelling, whitewater rafting on the Snake River, and sleeping in tents at the Snake River KOA.

In addition.. making lifelong memories and lifelong friends.

THAT is what these trips are about. Incredible and adventure-loving women coming together from all over to play outside, climb mountains, overcome challenges, face fears, and build community.

Everyone came from a different city, different background, and different experience level.

And yet, we all fit perfectly together.
Like little puzzle pieces, destined to join.

I ran off of stoke, caffeine, and gratitude the entire weekend and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Thank you ladies for being you, being brave, being courageous, and being part of a lifelong sisterhood.

Never stop exploring. Promise?

We all know the real reason why I love hiking and outdoor adventures… because I get to not only spend time outside and on trails, but that time includes MANY MANY SNACKS.

What more could a gal want?

All jokes aside, eating adequate calories on the trail while hiking or backpacking is essential to staying fueled and having a grand ole’ time. 🤘🏻

If you’re going to be out there for ~1-1.5 hours you likely won’t need to put any snacks down the hatch (always bring some in case), but if you plan to be out there for 1.5+ hours, packing snacks will be an essential part of your planning & prepping and trail time upkeep.

This is why my fellow outdoor gal pal and I put our foodie brains together and complied a list of snack ideas for all your outdoor adventures!

These snacks are not only great for adults, but for kiddos too! We love seeing them outside too.. even if you’re stopping every 10 minutes to tell them to put down the worm they found. Or not. 🐛😂

Don’t forget, pack the foods that YOU like and enjoy & not what you’re told you “should” eat or that someone else eats, but you actually despise. Sure, we recommend some here, but you get to choose what you pack and munch on.

Also, something cool? You can get all these snacks are your local grocery store or dollar store!
