A furry friend and a good book sounds like our idea of a perfect Wednesday!

Join David JR Dalby and Clinton tomorrow at Teton County Library in the Youth Auditorium from 3:30-4:30PM. Kids ages 5-12 can bring a favorite book or choose one there, then settle in and practice reading with a therapy team happy to listen.

Sometimes, reading out loud can feel a little intimidating. Reading to a therapy animal offers a different experience and helps young readers build confidence along the way.

๐Ÿพ The PAW-ty is almost here!
Just a reminder that our Meet the Teams! PAW-ty is happening this Thursday (October 15th)!

Curious about what it's like to be a therapy animal team? Thinking about becoming one? Or just want to meet some of the amazing people and animals who make up Teton County Pet Partners?

Come hang out with us! Meet board members, evaluators, current and prospective teams, ask questions, make connections, grab some snacks, and don't forget to grab some shwag along the way!

๐Ÿ“… Thursday, October 15
โฐ 5โ€“7 PM
๐Ÿ“ Teton County Fairgrounds Community Building

Want to bring your dog? Well-behaved dogs who are comfortable around a large group of other dogs are welcome, as long as theyโ€™re on leash. One heads-up for our furry guests: the building has sealed concrete floors, which can be a little scary for some dogs.

Whether youโ€™re curious about therapy animal work, thinking about getting started, or just want to come meet the teams, weโ€™d love to see you!

Come meet the teams, make some friends, and get your PAW-ty on.

Some dogs just know when someone needs a little extra help. Lulu was one of those dogs.

Give Lulu a field and some freedom, and she had her own heaven on earth. She loved digging and snooping around, occasionally popping her head up to check that her mom was still there.

Lulu especially loved children; "the more chaos, the better." She had a particular soft spot for little girls. One of her most memorable visits was at Teton County Library, where she was reading with a little boy who was struggling with the words. Lulu kept inching closer until her nose was resting against his cheek. He settled down and was able to read with ease. It was a quiet little moment, but a profound one.

Lulu and Sharene also regularly visited Teton Literacy , Jackson Hole High School, and Jackson Hole Community School.

Thank you for your service, Lulu. You knew how to meet people right where they were, and youโ€™ll be missed. ๐Ÿค

Wednesday plans? We're hanging out with our friends at the library!

Alyssa Lynn and Keiko will be in Teton County Library's Youth Auditorium this Wednesday from 3:30โ€“4:30PM for Ruff Readers. Kids ages 5โ€“12 can bring a favorite book or pick one out there and settle in for some reading time with a furry friend who's happy to listen.

Keiko is mostly interested in two things: listening to stories and hanging out with his people. Luckily, that makes him excellent at his job. He'll happily sit through tricky words, slow readers, fast readers, and everything in between while kids get the chance to practice in a relaxed and supportive setting.

๐Ÿ“š Wednesdays are for books and furry friends at the library!

Valerie Newton Page and Sailor will be in Teton County Library's Youth Auditorium this Wednesday from 3:30โ€“4:30PM for Ruff Readers. Kids ages 5โ€“12 can bring a favorite book or pick one out there and settle in for some reading time with a furry friend who's happy to listen.

A few minutes of reading with Sailor can be more about getting through a book. It's a chance for kids to practice reading in a relaxed and supportive setting with a therapy team ready to listen. That quiet, nonjudgmental support can help young readers build confidence while they practice.
