Quick reminder for the woman rebuilding her strength:

You do not have to “bounce back.”
You are allowed to rebuild slowly, intentionally, and wisely.

Strong doesn’t always look loud.
Sometimes strength looks like:

• going for the walk
• making the nourishing meal
• setting boundaries
• resting without guilt
• starting again after a hard week

Progress is still progress.

I’m appreciating how Every Mother (EM) App approaches pelvic floor health a little differently.

It’s not just about strengthening. It’s about learning how the pelvic floor responds—how it supports, lengthens, and adapts in different positions and throughout movement.

There’s also a focus on relaxation, which is often overlooked, especially for women experiencing symptoms like prolapse or even constipation.

What I like most so far is that EM doesn’t keep you in one position—it begins to gently progress into real-life movement so your body can learn what to do when it actually matters.

If you’ve been dealing with pelvic floor symptoms or just feel disconnected from your core, this is a helpful place to start learning and building awareness.

Stop holding your core tight all day.

I know it feels like you’re doing the right thing—like you’re protecting your back or trying to “stay engaged.”

But constant gripping? It actually makes it harder for your core and pelvic floor to do their job well.

Think about it like this…

If something is always on, it loses its ability to respond when you actually need it.

Your core isn’t meant to be locked down.

It’s meant to move with you, support you, and adjust with your breath, your steps, your lifts.

So instead of holding tension all day, try this:

• Let your belly soften
• Unclench your glutes
• Take a slow breath in
• Exhale without forcing anything

Just notice what happens. No fixing. No forcing.

You might feel your ribs settle.

Your pelvic floor drop a little.

Your body relax in a way you didn’t realize it needed.

That’s where real strength starts.

Not from gripping harder…

But from allowing your body to respond again.

Release first.

Then build strength.

I use the Reclaim Pelvic Floor program inside the Every Mother app, and in the first couple of days, I’ve gotten a helpful reset on how I think about core and pelvic floor.

Day 1 focused on something simple—but often misunderstood: how to properly engage and relax the pelvic floor (yes, both matter).

Not just “do your Kegels,” but understanding what’s actually happening and how this connects to things like prolapse, pressure, and that feeling of looseness or disconnect.

Day 2 started layering in movement, and this is where it really clicked.

It’s not about doing more…

It’s about doing it in a way your body can actually use.

What I appreciate so far:

• The exercises are short and manageable (I did about 10–12 minutes)
• Everything is designed to be pelvic floor safe
• There’s a strong focus on coordination—not just strength

Because here’s the truth:

A tight muscle isn’t always a strong muscle.

And a strong muscle that doesn’t coordinate well under pressure… still struggles.

This is the part I see all the time—
Women doing all the “right” exercises, but still dealing with leaking, pressure, or core disconnection.

Not because they’re not trying…

But because no one ever taught them how it all works together.

• “Why does my core feel disconnected, even when I’m exercising?”

This is a really helpful place to start learning.

Our bodies are designed to send signals when something needs attention. Tight muscles, fatigue, discomfort, or imbalance are not signs of failure. They are reminders that the body is asking for care, support, and understanding.

Sometimes the first step toward healing is simply remembering that your body was never meant to be a burden—it was meant to support you in living fully and moving through life with strength and purpose.

Your body was created with purpose. Learn how to care for it with intention, reconnect with it, and build strength through a lens of biblical body stewardship.

Grateful for 20 years in physical therapy, the people I’ve had the privilege to walk alongside, and the lessons that have shaped me along the way.

This season has stretched me, refined me, and reminded me why I started… to help people move better, feel stronger, and live fully.

Over the past year, I’ve felt a strong calling to step into something new, investing in the next generation through teaching, mentoring, and sharing the skills that aren’t always found in a textbook… the ones that help us truly connect and grow.

I’ve loved what I’ve done in physical therapy. And in this current season, doors have been opening and I’ve felt the nudge to step through and take hold of this new calling. It looks different, but it’s an opportunity to continue serving and leading in a new way, one that allows me to live with more intention, while still reaching and teaching with purpose for the next generation.

And if I’m honest, it also gives me something I don’t want to miss… time.

Time to be more present with my kids in these high school years, build deeper relationships with friends that I’ve had to push into the margins, and support my parents into their golden years.

This doesn’t feel like stepping away, rather it feels like stepping into exactly where I’m called to be.

This season looks different, but the heart remains the same: serve well, teach clearly, and keep growing. Grateful for every patient, every conversation, every lesson, and carrying it forward.

Here’s to new, restful beginnings, with purpose and intentionality!
