Do you have little gremlin thoughts running amuck inside your head?
We, as humans, have about 6,000+ thoughts a day. Most of them are repeated and negative in nature. Which is why you tend to feel the same emotions day after day. Life feels like itās on autopilot.
Without learning how to manage your mind those pesky little gremlin thoughts will keep you stuck and riddled with anxiety, but if the idea of managing your thoughts seems daunting, start by first taking notice of your language.
This is surface level awareness. Notice the kind of the words you use and the tone of your conversations. Do you cuss regularly or trash talk others around you? What kind of music do you listen to? Is the language of the music demoralizing or degrading to others? Does it promote violence or corruption?
Itās no coincidence that during the darkest times of my life I listened to music that perpetuated my negative thinking and attitude. I watched movies and shows about violence, death, and destruction. I read books about crimes and mysteries and I swore like a sailor.
To an unaware person, there would be no correlation. But it matters - in a big way.
It matters because it keeps your vibrational frequency in a low and self destructive state. Yes, vibration, frequency, and energetics are a very real thing and the things you engage in on a daily basis either lower your energetic frequency or raise it. This includes your choice in music, movies, the language you use and the tone of your conversations, and people you surround yourself with. Ever notice how draining it can feel when you are around a ānegative nancyā. I call those people energy vampires. If you match their frequency then you may find it easy to join in on their negative commentary. Misery loves company.
Self awareness has layers, like peeling an onion. If managing your thoughts seems too complicated then start by noticing your language or the style of music you listen to.
